The Glades Initiative Food Distribution is Changing!

We hope that the flexibility of our new “Pantry of Choice” hours helps us to serve you better. You may come to shop in the pantry once per week at any time during open hours. In a “Pantry of Choice”, you choose the foods that you want and need (within guidelines)! Food will no longer be distributed outside.

Required to participate:
• Valid ID or your Glades Initiative Food Pantry ID
• ONE time per week

WHEN: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Tuesday)
  • 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Wednesday)

Palm Beach County Redistricting Town Hall Meeting

The public is invited to attend a virtual town hall meeting regarding redistricting of the Palm Beach County Commission districts. The redistricting process occurs every ten years following the release of Census information. This meeting will provide information on the 2020 Census, the redistricting process, upcoming public hearings, and will provide an opportunity for you to provide your comments and feedback.

Palm Beach County Food Finder Map

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify the information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

From Joseph Abruzzo, PBC Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller: "For the past decade, our team has been a leader in guardianship fraud investigations, from the launch of the Guardianship Integrity Assurance Hotline in 2011 that allowed people to anonymously report possible cases of fraud in guardianship cases, to the creation of an online reporting system for guardians that was recently highlighted by a statewide task force for potential use throughout Florida."

In Need of Masks? Contact The Glades Initiative, Inc.

If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last. 

If you are with a group of vulnerable people and need more than 20, call us first and we will do our best to help you get what you need.

Hygiene Items Needed for 2021 Holiday Gift Bags

Community Action Advisory Board Seeks to Fill Low-Income Seat Vacancy

The Palm Beach County Community Action Agency’s (CAA) mission is to collaborate with other organizations to remove barriers and create opportunities for low- income individuals and families that will enable them to become more self-sufficient. CAA’s Advisory Board currently has a vacancy for the Tri-City Glades area Low-Income Seat and is inviting organizations in that area that serve low-income residents to nominate a representative.
