Open to All: Food Distribution Every Wednesday at The Glades Initiative
For the past year and a half, and continuing into the future, The Glades Initiative offers weekly food distribution to anyone in need. Those coming in cars are asked to line up beside the office for drive-through pick-up on Wednesdays from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM. Both drivers and walkers will receive food bags on a first-come first-serve basis.
Our staff and volunteers will wear personal protective gear as we handle and distribute the food bags. We ask that drivers and their passengers remain in their vehicles and practice social distancing measures to keep everyone safe.

Early Voting starts today, Monday, October 19, 2020 through Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Don't want to mail your Vote-by-Mail ballot? Drop it off at the secure drop box at any Early Voting location! Remember to bring one or two forms of valid and current identification that include your signature and photo. Registered voters in Palm Beach County can vote in any Early Voting site.

Breastfeeding Support Program
Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies now offers breastfeeding support and guidance to families by providing complimentary and convenient consultation services. Breastfeeding Educators will answer your questions or concerns regarding breastfeeding. The goal is to provide families with education, encouragement, support, and connection to additional services you may need to ensure your breastfeeding experience is a successful one. This program is not a medical service. Services are offered in English, Spanish, and Creole.

An interactive tool using Google Maps to help people easily locate free food and hot meals in Palm Beach County. This online tool was created to connect individuals seeking food resources to sites near them. Information is English, Spanish, and Creole. United Way updates the information listed on this map weekly. However, locations and hours of distribution may change. Please consider calling the site prior to visiting to verify information listed. Please note that sites may have specific requirements such as ID.

School Sites Free Meal Distribution (For Ages 18 and under)
In an effort to better streamline the distribution of free grab-and-go meals, the School District of Palm Beach County School Food Service department has consolidated the number of food distribution sites in the county to 97 beginning Tuesday, October 20. Meal distribution will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice.
In addition to the location changes, as of Thursday, October 22, and each Thursday thereafter, School Food Service will also be providing a 10 to 12-pound box of fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to the grab-and-go meals. Boxes will be provided while supplies last. All children 18 years of age and younger (22 and younger for ESE) are eligible for the free meals.

Youth Services and United Way of PBC Provide CARES Act Grant Funding to Nonprofits
The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners is providing grant funding through its Youth Services Department to the United Way of Palm Beach County for nonprofit agencies throughout Palm Beach County. Monies are made available through the county’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to meet the needs of qualifying 501 (c)(3) or 501(c)(19) nonprofit agencies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

From Great Charity Challenge: We invite you to save the date for this year's Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments® (GCC) application process: Monday October 26 through Sunday November 15, 2020 at 5 PM. Founded by father/daughter team, Mark and Paige Bellissimo in 2009, the initiative came forward as a way to increase funding to local non-profits, following the 2008 economic crisis, at a time where donations were scarce. If you or people you know need masks, The Glades Initiative has masks and will share them with anyone in the Glades who needs them. These are the white two-ply reusable washable masks given by the health department. Call or come by to pick them up as long as supplies last.
