Mandated Procedures for Sept 7 Glades Central/William T Dwyer Game
Glades Central High School has released important information pertaining to this Friday's football game between the high school and William T Dwyer.
The procedures include (among other procedures):
* There will be no entry into games after the second half kickoff. Tickets will continue to be sold through halftime, but sales will halt once halftime has concluded.
* No re-entry. If you exit the stadium, you cannot return.
* Loitering is prohibited outside of stadium gates or in the parking lots before, during or after the game. Once spectators leave a game, they must leave the school campus.

To date, 5 kids have signed up, and we hope this event will encourage more! Please join Fire Rescue staff as they welcome the western community to share what the Cadet program is all about. Our local cadets will be attending and will be doing demonstrations and giving valuable information to new candidates.
The cadet program allows teenagers an opportunity to attain real-life experience on the job within Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. They earn the privilege to ride along on the Fire Rescue trucks, responding to real time 9-11 calls and situations. The program emphasizes teamwork and being an upstanding citizen of the community."

Free Food Box Distribution in the Glades
The Glades Initiative, through our Glades Area Food bank, will be receiving truckloads of food boxes delivered to the Glades for those organizations with no transportation to pick up in West Palm Beach. The boxes contain items such as Chicken Creole with Brown rice, Pasta Fagioli, Chicken Pasta Parmesan, and Whole Pinto Beans. The goal is to feed as many people as possible, and feed again, until every food box goes out!

"Gerrymandering and the Courts"
Partisan gerrymandering is the practice of drawing legislative and congressional district lines to maximize and perpetuate the power of an incumbent political party.Tom Wolf of the Brennan Center for Social Justice at NYU will speak about how partisan gerrymandering has changed the face of America. This year the Supreme Court heard a number of gerrymandering cases. The Court's decisions left open the possibility for future action and laid out several roadmaps for how to proceed. Tom will speak about next steps in the fight against partisan gerrymandering.
