Glass Club Upcoming April Events

Dot-a-Palooza Event

We have scheduled a Dot-a-Palooza event for Saturday, April 11.

A sign-up sheet will be available on the counter in the Glass room as of Wednesday, April 1. The first 7 members to sign up will be able to participate.

If you sign up, you need to have your dots glued onto a small 8x9 kiln paper and ready for the morning of 4/11. You also need to be present when placing the dots in the kiln on 4/11 at 9am and the following morning to remove them.

Mentor Session scheduled for Monday, April 13 12pm to 2pm

This session is open to all club members. A sign up sheet will be available on the counter in the Glass room starting Wednesday, April 1.

Reminder - New Front Door to the Creative Arts Center

On Tuesday, April 14th, a new front door is going to be installed for the Creative Arts Center. There will be no access to the front entrance of the building that day. Access to the studios will be from each room's back door, or by using the back door to the building. The door will take about 8 hours to install. The Glass room will be open during this time but we will have to enter the building through the back door. Please plan accordingly.

Bottle Fusing Class

Many members have indicated an interest in learning how to fuse/slump wine/liquor bottles to create cheese boards or snack serving dishes. Steve Nathan has agreed to hold a class to share some of his experience with fusing wine/liquor bottles.

We will meet in the Quail Room (Room #102–Woodcarver’s Room) on Wednesday, April 15th from 4:00 – 5:30 pm to discuss some of the tricks of the trade he has learned over the years. A sign up sheet will be available on the counter in the Glass room starting Wednesday, April 1.

In addition, a kiln has been reserved for 2 separate later dates, which will allow members who attend this class to bring 1 bottle to fuse. Each kiln session is limited to 8 students. Please bring your calendars to the class, so you will be able to sign up for the kiln session prior to leaving. Members who sign up for kiln time must be available for the day of and day after the specific kiln date to be available to put their bottle(s) in the kiln and take it out.

Glass Club General Meeting

The next Glass Club General Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22  4pm - 5pm in the Coyote room. Agenda will be sent out prior to the meeting.

Kiln Washing Molds

We will be kiln washing the molds on Saturday, April 25. The Glass room will be closed all day with the exception of removing glass projects from the kilns early Saturday morning which must be completed by 9:30am. Also, do not place any projects on molds on the back shelf to be slumped. All molds need to be kiln washed.
