Glass Club Upcoming May Events
Bottle Fusing Class - has been rescheduled for May 13 4:00pm-5:30pm
Sign-up sheet is available on the counter in the Glass Room.
Class will meet in the Quail Room (Room #102 – Woodcarver’s Room) on Wednesday, May 13 from 4:00 – 5:30 pm. In addition, a kiln has been reserved for 2 separate later dates, which will allow members who attend this class to bring 1 bottle to fuse. Each kiln session is limited to 8 students. Please bring your calendars to the class, so you will be able to sign up for the kiln session prior to leaving. Members who sign up for kiln time must be available the day of and day after the specific kiln date to put their bottle(s) in the kiln and take it out.
Flattening Murrini Demo
This demo is scheduled for Thursday, May 14 1:00pm-2:00pm in the Glass Room. During this demo you will receive instructions on how to Flatten Murrini’s.

Diamond Cutting Class with a project
Class on Cutting Geometric Glass Shapes is scheduled for Monday, May 18
1:00pm-4:00pm in the Glass Room. Instructor: Dan Mitchell
Sign-up sheet is available on the counter in the Glass Room.
Participants will be instructed on the use of the club’s glass cutting system to cut geometric shapes. All participants will have the opportunity to cut diamond shapes to create a 6”x6” square dish. The class will include two glass firings. The
first will be a Bubble Squeeze and the second will be a Slump firing using a specific mold from the club’s inventory. The large kiln will be reserved for the first firing on Tuesday, May 19 at 9:30am and the second firing on Wednesday, May 20 at 9:00am. In addition to the class, all participants must be available in the mornings on both days of firing. There is no cost to this class but all participants need to bring their own materials for the class. Click here for instructions.
Circle Cutting Class
We have scheduled a Circle Cutting class for Thursday, May 28 1:00pm-2:00pm in the Glass Room. A sign-up sheet will be available on the counter in the Glass room as of Wednesday, May 13. All participants must bring your own glass to practice cutting a circle.
Mentor Session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 1:00pm to 3:00pm
This session is open to all club members. A sign up sheet will be available on the counter in the Glass room starting Wednesday, May 6.
Dot-a-Palooza Event
The Dot-a-Palooza event is scheduled for Friday, May 22 9am. A sign-up sheet will be available on the counter in the Glass room as of Wednesday, May 6. The first 7 members to sign up will be able to participate.
If you sign up, you need to have your dots glued onto a small 8x9 kiln paper and ready for the morning of 5/22. You also need to be present when placing the dots in the kiln on 5/22 at 9am and the following morning to remove them.
