Medical Cadet Corps Revitalize with Spiritual Weekend

SNEC Youth Department held a spiritual retreat at Camp Winnekeag September 13-15 for members of the Medical Cadet Corps (MCC). Under the theme "It's Possible," more than 50 MCCs enjoyed a weekend of spiritual revitalization, revival, and discovery. David McKenzie, Atlantic Union Conference Adventist Youth Ministries director, kicked off the weekend on Friday night with a story about Moses and Joshua working together to defeat the Amelakites at Rephidim (Exodus 17:8-13). The message emphasized how God works when we combine faith, work, and prayer to defeat the enemy.
Danny Mendoza, a member of the Leominster Spanish church in Leominster, Massachusetts, provided the spiritual food for the remainder of the weekend and reminded those attending that with God, everything is possible. Linda Col὚n, a member from the Framingham Centre church in Framingham, Massachusetts, led out in group and team building activities emphasizing support, respect, and tolerance.
As the Sabbath closed, a
ttendees consecrated themselves to the Lord and His service by observing the ordinances of humility in a special foot-washing and communion service. Saturday evening included some time for fun with a social complete with games, volleyball, and basketball
. Medoza gave a final spiritual charge to the MCCs before they left on Sunday to their respective homes.

Abundant Living Evangelistic Series Births New Mission
For four weeks, in an unprecedented event, the Northeastern Conference (NEC) hosted the Abundant Living Evangelistic Series right in the parking lot of the conference headquarters in Jamaica, New York. Led by Oswald Euell, NEC executive secretary, and assisted by Winston Stephenson, NEC assistant to the president for evangelism, as well as pastors from the NEC churches located in and around Queens, the series ran July 14-August 10, 2019.
In addition to a nightly message, meetings also featured music, a health segment, and opportunities to fellowship. Each service brought visitors not only from the local churches, but the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood, as well. The manager of the local Rite-Aid, who is not a Seventh-day Adventist, was a frequent visitor who stated that he enjoyed the services very much and looked forward to attending again. Through the assistance of the local churches and the Bible workers, 105 people were baptized, and a new mission was formed--the City Seventh-day Adventist Mission.
Beginning October 5, 2019, the new mission worship at 187-10 Baisley Blvd., St. Albans, N.Y. 11412 (First Church of God in Christ).

A compassion consecration service will be Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the Providence Hispanic Atwells SDA Mission located at 348 Smith St., Providence, R.I. Sabbath morning will be spent participating in compassion projects around the area. Afterward, everyone will meet at the Providence Hispanic church, located at 844 Broad St., Providence, R.I., for the
Compassion Rally which begins at 1:00 p.m.
Registration is required to participate in the compassion projects, receive a commemorative shirt, and Sabbath lunch.
