Summer Concert: A Música da Vida featuring Claudia Gargiulo
Thursday, August 11th | 7:30 pm
Argentine born singer and teacher Claudia Gargiulo is a mezzo-soprano known for the clarity of her voice. She has previously performed in South America and Europe, participating in festivals and theaters in Italy, Argentina and the USA. Now promotes Argentine tango, and Latin American Folk music in Washington DC.
Plus, True Respite Brewing Co. will be serving drinks!

DC Street Photography

Explore the rich humanistic tradition of street photography with Washington D.C. as the background. Students will learn how to photograph people in the street as well as the landscape of the DC Landscape. All experience levels are welcome. Bring your digital camera.

Foundation: Getting Started Shooting Video
Tue | Sept 6 - Nov 29 | 7 - 9 pm
A beginner level class about shooting video with a digital camera, DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Topics will include the way to handle different aspects of image capture in video, such as exposure frame rate, stabilizing, monitoring, and focusing. Students will then create their own video assignments, and then the class will critique.

Introductory Irish Fiddle

For adult violinists who are interested in learning more about traditional Irish fiddling. Explore various rhythms and tune types, experiment with ornamentation and bowing principles while learning jigs, reels, hornpipes, mazurkas, highlands, barn dances, and more. Great ear training, great fun! Field trips to local Irish sessions. Students must provide own instrument.

Yoga for All Levels

This open level yoga class incorporates breath and movement to create a deeply transformative practice. Beginners build strong awareness and understanding of the fundamentals of yoga poses while more seasoned yogis take their practice to new depths. In a nurturing and safe environment, everyone gains strength, balance, flexibility and relaxation. Bring a yoga mat and props. This class will be taught in a HYBRID format so that students may attend in-person or virtually through Zoom.
