Let's Connect in July: Set up a phone or Zoom call

If we have not already talked to you, we would love to connect with you in July. We desire to talk to as many of our Ministry Partners as possible. So we have setup several blocks of time between now and Saturday, July 24th so that we can hopefully find a time that works with your schedule. Here is how to set up your phone or Zoom call with us using Setmore:

  • When you click on the link below, you will be taken to that site and you can choose a 30 minute call, a 45 minute call, or a 40 minute Zoom call.
  • After selecting from these three options, simply choose a time and day that works for you.
  • Setmore will send you and us an email confirming the call that you set up.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your phone call, you can use the email confirmation you received to do that. Just look for the buttons to “Reschedule” or Cancel Appointment”.
  • There is also an easy way to add that appointment to your calendar from your confirmation email.

Answering Your Questions: Our Initial FAQs List

When will your transition from Marriage Revolution to Abiding Marriage take place? In reality, the transition has already started, but Monday, August 2nd is the big transition point. This is the day when couples can officially begin biblical counseling sessions with Abiding Marriage. However, our last official day as staff of Marriage Revolution is August 15th.

If we want to continue financially supporting Glen and Shawn at Abiding Marriage, how do we do that? We are in the process of getting everything in place to begin taking donations at Abiding Marriage. We anticipate everything being ready no later than Thursday, July 15th. We will communicate detailed info on that as soon as all the details are finalized. Look for an email from us later this month.

If we are doing a recurring monthly donation, how and when do we need to stop that? We would love for everyone to transition their recurring gift to Abiding Marriage in August. So after your July gift is given, here's how to transfer your monthly donation:

  • If you set up your gift through Marriage Revolution's giving page, let Glen know through email. He can go into the Marriage Revolution donation system and de-activate your monthly gift. Then you can get your gift re-started with Abiding Marriage in August using the instructions we will send you.
  • If you set up your gift through your bank or financial institution, you will have to go through the steps to stop your recurring gift with them. Then you can get your gift re-started with Abiding Marriage in August using the instructions we will send you. And if you need a new mailing address, we will provide that for you. Look for an email from us later this month.

What do we do if we send a check each month for our gift? For those of you that still send checks or have them sent through you financial institution, we will provide a new mailing address for you. Look for an email from us later this month.

Re-Sharing: In Case You Missed This Last Month

We are EXCITED to share some news with you: The Lord has made it clear that we are to take a big step of faith and start our own marriage ministry called Abiding Marriage! This is not something we ever dreamed we would do, but the call from the Lord is unmistakable, so we are following His lead – one step at a time. And our excitement grows with each step, knowing this is His ministry and we are only stewards of what He has birthed!

As we have prayed and sought His vision for this ministry, the Lord has given us a three-fold focus for Abiding Marriage:

1) Continue to provide biblical marriage counseling to couples without fees.
2) Invest in and help build up the next generation of marriages.
3) Train other married couples to walk alongside couples in marriage discipleship.

Leaving Marriage Revolution was not in our plans, but the Lord has made it clear that it is His plan. We are leaving Marriage Revolution on the best of terms. We love Hans and Star and the team God has assembled, and will miss the weekly calls and interactions we share as a team. We are extremely thankful to Hans and the Board of Marriage Revolution for the way they have invested in us. We would not be who we are today without their sacrifice and investment in our lives! August 15th will be our last day on staff with Marriage Revolution.


JULY 2021 PRAYER REQUESTS: OUR TRANSITION

GOD LEADING: In the midst of our transition from Marriage Revolution to Abiding Marriage, it is continually a temptation to get lost in the many, many things to do OR to get overwhelmed by all that needs to get done. Pray that we would truly keep God in His rightful place during this super-busy season. That we could continue to pursue the Lord as our "first love" and trust Him to continue to lead us, day-by-day, and step-by-step!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE: Thankful for your prayers last month! God has placed two great men on our Board and we are seeking the Lord for the third person. Please continue to pray that in this pivotal season, God would direct our Board in each and every step we take!

SYSTEMS IN PLACE UPDATE: Again, thanks for your prayers last month! We have several key systems in place, but still need God's direction and discernment for some other systems. Thanks for praying the Spirit of God would be filling and controlling us as we follow His lead in making these decisions.

LEGAL STUFF UPDATE: We are thankful that the Lord has gotten our initial legal paperwork in the State of Arkansas completed. Now we are on to other legal decisions as well as the paperwork required with the Federal Government to be a 501(c)(3). Please pray that God would give us favor in getting these legal requirements completed in the next 3-4 months - no later than year-end.

HONORING GOD AND OTHERS: Finally, pray that, in the midst of this transition, we would honor the Lord, honor Hans and the leadership of Marriage Revolution, and all the others involved in this process. Ultimately, we strongly desire to see God glorified and His Kingdom built in every step of this process!
