GCA Board of Directors
GCA Board Virtual Meetings in June
The GCA Board of Directors is holding the Board meeting via GoToMeeting on 18 June from 7 PM to 9 PM. By joining the "virtual" meeting you can listen to the proceedings from start to finish. If the Board schedules an executive session, the general meeting will end and the Board will meet separately to discuss contract and/or legal issues. The agenda and Board packet will be published on the Glenmore website ahead of the meetings and the minutes of the meetings will also be posted.

If you would like to participate in the Board meeting, please contact Tim Durrer at 434-984-0700 or click here to obtain information regarding the GoToMeeting link.
Virginia Relaxes Board Meeting Rules
The Virginia General Assembly passed emergency legislation that allows directors of common interest community associations (the GCA) to meet virtually without requiring physical assembly. In order to convene virtual meetings, we must satisfy requirements concerning notice, member access and meeting minutes. A complete explanation of the legislation is available here . GCA Budget Item - Hiking Trail Improvements?
The GCA has an operating budget line for "Hiking Trail improvements". The CARB has been busy this year improving and marking the walking trails, and they look great! If you haven't been on the hiking trails of late, you really should walk them. Want to know how much money we set aside for Hiking Trail Improvements this year?

For the answer, see the GCA 2020 budget (account # 6685) by clicking here.

Independence Day Parade
Mark it on your calendar, the Club at Glenmore is planning an Independence Day Parade in Glenmore. Details will follow.
Feedback from the Community
We received a call saying that one of the resident lawn crews is dumping grass and yard debris regularly on a vacant lot. "Could you could post another reminder that people should NOT be dumping yard debris, allowing their dogs to roam unattended (which I see up in Pendower Heights all the time) or otherwise use someone else's vacant property as a dump site?"

Please advise your lawn crews to dispose of the grass clippings and yard waste off site.
Driving in Glenmore Requires a License
This summer we’re observing more children driving golf carts on Glenmore Roads. Please be aware, only licensed drivers are allowed to operate motorized vehicles on Glenmore roads. Although we are gated, our roads must comply with all VA motor vehicle requirements. Be aware, if there is an injury while an underage and/or unlicensed driver operates a golf cart, your insurance company may not provide coverage if you authorized the use of the vehicle.

Looking for Stuff to Do Outdoors?
While social distancing prevents us from playing organized sports, there are still some outdoor activities that a family unit can engage in at the Glenmore sports field. Plenty of room to run around, kick a soccer ball, shoot some hoops, play horseshoes and bocce. We have equipment at the Sports Field. If you want to use the equipment, contact Thelma Washington at 434-984-0700.

NOTE: Please follow all CDC and VA State social distancing rules.
The GCA Playground is Open
The Glenmore playground behind the pools is now open. Similar to Albemarle County's playgrounds, the GCA will not be sanitizing the equipment. Each parent/guardian needs to bring their own sanitizing materials. Please maintain a distance of 6' or more at all times.

No Parking on Carroll Creek Road
Please do not park on Carroll Creek Rd near the pump house. If you plan to use the pump house access path on Carroll Creek Road to get to the Rivanna River, please park at the Sports Field (a short walk away). As you can see with our test vehicle, parking there blocks the sidewalk.
Rules for Visiting the Equestrian Center
Please be advised that the Equestrian Center is now a working farm with large horses and farm equipment. Visitors are welcome by contacting Abbie Wright at 561 216 9392 to arrange for a visit.

Equestrian Center Safety Rules
  • Horses are unpredictable; treat them with caution at all times.
  • Do not climb the fences or go into the paddocks.
  • Do not feed or pet the horses.
  • No dogs, joggers, or strollers are allowed near the barn or pastures.
  • No bikes or golf carts are allowed near the barn or pastures.
  • The nature trails around the outside perimeter of the EC are available for residents’ walking (see below). Some trails are also used by riders. If you encounter a horse and rider, stand aside until the horse passes.
The Golf Course is Private Property
Please be aware that the golf course is owned by the Club at Glenmore and is private property. The golf course and cart paths are for golfers only. Please do not walk or ride on the golf course or the cart paths.
How can I Get a Copy of the GCA Annual Budget?
Our GCA Web Page has vast amounts of information. In fact, to find the GCA 2020 Budget, go to the web page, then click on "Board" on the top line. In the section titled "Agendas, Minutes, & Committee Reports", click on the "17 October 2019" Reports. We approve the future year budget in October of each year.
