Glenridge Middle Community Member

This week, our students have Monday off school celebrating President’s Day. However, we still have a busy week ahead.

As basketball season ends, Coach Stock will meet with students interested in track. Track and field is a great way for all of our students to get involved in athletics and extracurriculars in general. This is our final sanctioned sport for the school year. With basketball coming to an end, Coach Jacoby will be running intramurals in the gym on Wednesday and Thursday mornings again.

Friday our theater troupe will participate in the state competition. Good luck to all of our thespians!

We have many exciting end-of-year activities coming up for our students. One requirement for these events is to not have unexcused tardies. This does not include first period due to our challenges with buses, but otherwise, students have plenty of time to get from one class to the next. It is an important attribute to be on time to class. It shows the teachers that you respect their time and are ready to learn. Walking in late to class disrupts learning, and gives the impression that class is not important. This is something that all of our students can do and it makes a difference. I don’t want anyone to miss out on events because of excessive tardies.

Thank you for your continued support in partnering with us and I look forward to seeing all of our Lions back on campus Tuesday morning!

Malcolm Kramer
Malcolm Kramer is having a great week in Tallahassee with the House Page program. This elite program invites students from across the state to a legislative session for one week where they participate in the process of making and passing laws.
In this picture, Malcolm is standing outside the Florida House of Representatives offices. We are extremely proud of him for representing our school!
Track & Field Season
Brief information meeting this Wednesday
There will be a brief after school meeting for students who are interested in joining the Glenridge Track & Field team this spring. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 21st in the gym from 3:00-3:20. All topics pertaining to the track & field season will be covered during the meeting.
Welcoming Incoming 6th Grade Families
Glenridge hosted our incoming 6th grade families last week and had a great turnout. Special thanks to all of the staff that stayed around to make the parents feel welcome and answer their questions.
Ms. Lunsford, Mr. Brannock, and Ms. Moenssens greet eager families.

"Catching the Winning Behaviors"
NJHS Volunteer Service Project
Tate Stanford (8th grade) and his fellow National Junior Honor Society members recently delivered over 100 snack bags to Ronald McDonald House for the families staying there. The students packed each of these bags after individually collecting donations of snacks. We spotlight Tate this week as he alone collected about 25% of those donations and volunteered to help deliver them to Ronald McDonald House. Thank you very much to Tate and NJHS on a job extremely well done!
