Meet Ji-Yeung Jang, New Assistant Vice President for Global Affairs: Ji-Yeung Jang comes to Rutgers by way of South Korea, Israel, Australia, and Kenya, and has big goals for enlarging the global footprint of the University.

Rutgers Student Engineers Build Classrooms for Guatemalan School Children: A team of students from the Rutgers Chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB), determined to alleviate a dire situation in Chi Elias, Guatemala, designed and built two classrooms for students in grades 1-5.

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine Researcher to Study Oral Diseases in Nigerian Youth: Modupe Coker will be awarded a $4.5 million National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research grant for her five-year project titled “HPV, HIV, and Oral Microbiota Interplay in Nigerian Youth.”

Using Lasers, a Van and Engineering Models, Rutgers Team Maps Where the Flood Water Will Go: Jie Gong, a Rutgers engineering professor, imagined a better way to predict flooding and other threats to infrastructure and buildings.

Internship Mentoring Girls Ignites Interests for Rutgers–Camden Student: International student AnnMarie Bediako guided teens in Philadelphia and South Jersey in explorations of career possibilities.

Rutgers-Newark Advocates for Translation Services Testify at State Senate Hearing: Faculty and students from Lives in Translation, a RU-N effort recruiting undergraduate volunteers to serve as interpreters, testified before the New Jersey State Senate, advocating for a bill that would require state government agencies to provide translations of vital documents.

New Training Program Addresses Cancer Care Knowledge Gaps in Africa: A new training program called Cancer Kitso is being developed for health care workers with the goal of improving cancer care and prevention capabilities throughout Botswana and, eventually, other countries in Africa.

Driving Innovation at Rutgers-Camden: The world's largest open-track traffic experiment is being conducted by the CIRCLES Consortium – comprised of Benedetto Piccoli, vice chancellor for research, along with several researchers nationwide – are testing 100 AI-equipped vehicles to mitigate human-caused traffic jams.
