Young Alumna Feature: Chelsea Phuangthong (SEBS’21): Phuangthong graduated in 2021 from the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences with a major in biochemistry. She now works at Merck, a pharmaceutical company and travels to Switzerland for her job. During her time at Rutgers, she was a SEBS Ambassador, working with international students and domestic students alike.

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 unique fellowships to U.S. citizens to teach, research and conduct professional projects in more than 130 countries.


Explore awards available in the 2025-26 competition. Faculty, researchers, artists and professionals in all disciplines can join the more than 400,000 Fulbrighters who have come away with enhanced skills, new connections and greater mutual understanding.

The Career Exploration in Arts & Sciences Mini-Course is 7 weeks long and starts March 5. The international student section offers focused support for the unique career needs and challenges international students face as you plan and pursue your professional futures. The course is open to students of any school of enrollment and all class years except first-years.

Friendship Fridays are open to all Rutgers students, both domestic and international, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Each week there will be a different theme where attendees can enjoy games, activities, and conversation - all while making new friends from around the world.
