“Throughout high school, I crafted narratives based on events that I or people I knew had experienced and used writing as an outlet to express myself by discussing the emotions I intimately felt. I was further inspired to pursue studies in English by my grandmother, who had lived with my family for several years and graduated with a degree in the subject in 1950.... As I delved deeper into my studies, I discovered the rich literary heritage of England, a country that had fascinated my grandmother and held a special place in her heart.... As I researched and uncovered more about our English lineage, I became captivated by the country's literature, culture, and history.” (1/2)
