These modest seed grants are offered yearly to all tenured, tenure‐track, clinical, or NTT faculty. Lanae Ali, a first-generation student and first-time flier, took the leap of a lifetime, traveling over 4,837 miles away from home to experience Greek life through the Lifestyles of The Mediterranean program. Lanae completed her Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Middlesex County College. She transferred to RU-Newark in the Fall semester of 2021 to pursue her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Social Justice through the Honors-Living Learning Community (HLLC). She describes her experience in the program as both "eye-opening" and "life-changing," stating that "the trip gave me the confidence I needed to pursue my dreams and career goals, and I strongly encourage both transfer and non-transfer students to take a chance with study abroad."
