International Women in Engineering Day, brought to you by Women's Engineering Society (WES), is an international awareness campaign to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus attention on the amazing career opportunities available to girls in this exciting industry. Ukrainian STEM Program Supporting Girls

STEM is FEM is an educational project in Ukraine that aims to foster girls’ STEM interests and skill sets. Prior to the Russian invasion, STEM is FEM organized educational modules focused on diverse STEM industries, featuring women STEM professionals and project-based competitions for girls, and also implemented the exhibition SHE is SCIENCE, as part of the UN’s Generation Equality Forum. The exhibition features portraits of women scientists drawn by Ukrainian illustrators with essays written by the winners of a countrywide contest for girls. | |

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, STEM is FEM changed its focus to supporting girls living in insecurity or forced to leave the country by helping them continue their STEM interests through scholarships, online educational modules, and providing STEM-related resources to their community of girls. Girl Up Global Leadership Summit

Girls Get Equal
This global campaign, organized by Plan International, strives to achieve gender equality by demanding equal power, freedom, and representation for diverse girls and young women, including a focus on online safety and girls' leadership in diverse fields and education institutions. The Activist Hub includes toolkits and resources for youth to implement a campaign in their local community, including inspiration and learning materials rooted in girls' lived experiences, such as articles on "How to be an intersectional feminist".

UNSECO Global Education Monitoring Report
This annual report provides a global picture of advances in and barriers to achieving gender equality in education across 120 countries and highlights the impacts of gender stereotypes and biases on girls' access, performance, and pursuit of STEM. Key findings include that girls' performance in mathematics is equal to boys in upper primary and secondary school, however, boys continue to be the highest performers in all countries. In middle and high-income countries, while girls in secondary school score higher in science, they are less likely to pursue science-related careers.

Transforming Education in Africa through Innovation Report
The Global Education Coalition, launched by UNESCO due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is a coalition of global education stakeholders committed to helping countries foster equitable access to education. The report highlights projects focused on youth's safely, learning, and empowerment across Africa, including a mentorship program for young women to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, as well as efforts to expand access to remote learning for the most marginalized.
