August 2019 marks an astounding fifty years since the Woodstock Festivaltook place. The Festival featured just about every popular music artist of the time including The Who, Santana, Jefferson Airplane, and Janis Joplin. Woodstock achieved iconic status immediately; there had never been anything similar attempted on that scale. It’s highly unusual to find any unseen images from those three magical days. But we did.
We’re pleased to announce our new photo collection by photographer Jason Laure. Jason extensively documented the atmosphere and performances at this watershed event of our time. His historic black & white and color images are now available for licensing exclusively through GIW Photos.

Additionally, Laure captured distinctive images of the counterculture in general including hippie communes and the scenes in Greenwich Village and San Francisco.
Laure also documented the one-year birthday celebration of the groundbreaking Broadway production “Hair”in Central Park in 1969. “Hair” is currently celebrating its 50ththanniversary and will be featured in the spring of 2019 as part of the NBC Live Musical Series.
Jason Laure has covered many topical events including the first Earth Day in 1970 and the days following the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968. With camera in hand, he traveled extensively in Africa and the developing world. He photographed Nelson Mandela after his release from prison during the 1990’s.
