UC Davis Summer & Quarter Abroad
Our 2027 study abroad lineup will be available soon, with returning favorites and new programs worldwide. Explore design in Japan, writing in Greece, sustainability in Northern Europe and more, plus new opportunities in China, Croatia, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa and France. In the meantime, browse our 2026 programs (many are expected to return in 2027), create a Global Learning Profile for updates, attend a fall info session, learn about enrollment and choosing a program, or meet with an advisor.
Study Abroad with UCEAP
Ready to explore the world? The University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) offers UC students opportunities to study, intern and conduct research abroad while earning UC credit. A few Spring 2027 programs still have space available, so there’s still time to apply! Applications for Summer 2027 programs open in late October. New to UC Davis? Global Studies Minor & Global Coursework
Global Studies Minor
The Global Studies Minor helps students build global awareness, global diversity and global action through upper-division coursework, experiential learning and a digital portfolio. Students work with a minor advisor to design a global theme and select approved courses or petition courses with a clear global focus.
Global Studies Minor Course Highlight: EAP 001—Global Thinking
The Global Learning Hub offers an interdisciplinary course that prepares students to become global leaders and changemakers by developing skills in critical thinking, research, intercultural competence and much more. This course counts toward the Global Studies Minor. Course offering: M/W, 4:10–5:30 p.m., 1150 Hart Hall, 4 units. CRN: 27297.
Global Studies Minor Course Highlight: IAD 10—Intro to International Ag Development
This course explores the ethics, theories, practices and institutions of agricultural development and how new agricultural technology shapes emerging economies—no agriculture background needed. This course counts toward the Global Studies Minor. Course offering: M/W, 2:10–3:30 p.m., plus discussion section, 4 units.

First-Year Global Learning Seminar: Connecting the Local and the Global: The UN Sustainable Development Goals in Action

Get Matched with a Global Ambassador Peer Mentor
The Global Ambassador Mentorship Program pairs first-year and incoming transfer international undergraduate students with trained peer mentors to support their transition to UC Davis and life in the United States. Your peer mentor can help you navigate academics, campus involvement and student life while building connections and confidence in your new community. Learn more and apply to the program to be matched with a peer mentor.
Global Affairs Pal Program
The Pal Program pairs UC Davis undergraduate students for intercultural conversation and exchange. Participants can use weekly one-hour sessions to increase their intercultural awareness, practice a target language and develop friendships. Fall quarter registration is now open.
APRU Food Security and Agritech Conference 2026
October 5–7, Vancouver, Canada. Conference registration and student poster competition submissions are open. With the theme of Towards Climate-Resilient and Sustainable Food Futures, this conference is designed as an open and collaborative space for exploratory dialogue on the future of agritech and food systems. Register for the conference and compete in the student poster competition. Deadline: September 6.

Competitions, Challenges and Funding
Gilman International Scholarship Program
The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in study abroad and international internship programs. Applications open in mid-August for programs that start between December 1, 2026, and October 31, 2027. Deadline: October 1.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
This program offers annual awards for U.S. citizens who are graduating seniors, current graduate students or alumni to conduct research, study or teach English in more than 140 countries. Campus deadline: September 3. Campus interviews: September 10–18.
Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Fellowships
These nine-month fellowships offer research opportunities in India for recent graduates and graduate students pursuing master’s or Ph.D. degrees. Campus deadline: September 3. National deadline: October 6.
Luce Scholars Program
The Luce Scholars Program provides leadership training, language instruction, stipends and individualized professional placements across Asia for 18 scholars each year. Designed as an experiential program rather than an academic one, it is intended for emerging leaders, not those seeking research funding. Apply to the Luce Scholars Program. Deadline: September 8.
Schwarzman Scholars
The Schwarzman Scholars program provides a full scholarship for a one-year Master of Arts in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Scholars live and study on campus while completing a core curriculum in public policy, economics and business or international relations. Deadline: September 9.

CAN We Chill? Summer Workshop Series
August 19 and September 2, 10–11:30 a.m. Join the Community Advising Network (CAN) team for the last two workshops of the summer: Sound Play and Guided Meditation at the Nest and Karaoke and Singalong at MENASA Resource Center. These events are designed to help students recharge, connect with others, explore creative self-expression and practice stress-management skills.
Gilman Scholarship Info Session
