Global Learning Course Offered Fall Quarter 2026: EAP 001—Global Thinking

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Global Learning Hub offers an interdisciplinary course designed to develop students’ skills as global leaders and changemakers. Topics include critical thinking, problem-solving, research, writing, public speaking, project management and intercultural communication. Offered Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30–6:00 p.m. (CRN 27297).

 

UC Davis Climate Action Fellows

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Climate Action Fellows work with sustainability professionals to support projects and initiatives that advance UC Davis sustainability goals. Fellows contribute to new and ongoing efforts guided by campus priorities and the UC Policy on Sustainable Practices. Applications open soon.

 

Summer Internship Program at The Cyprus Institute Graduate School

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Apply to conduct summer research at the Institute’s state-of-the-art facilities under the guidance of a mentor. Opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students in environmental sciences, machine learning, cultural heritage science and other fields. Deadline: June 30.

 

Global Research Opportunities

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Explore research opportunities offered by institutions abroad and plan ahead for future international research experiences. Many programs are available to undergraduate and graduate students with no program fee, while others offer scholarships to help offset costs.


North American Language and Culture Assistants Program in Spain

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Language and Culture Assistants are placed in schools across Spain during the 2026–27 academic year. Collaborate in world language classes through activities that strengthen students’ listening and speaking skills while promoting intercultural understanding. Apply to the program. Deadline: June 30.

 

Imagining America National Gathering 2026: Call for Participation

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Imagining America invites proposals for its 2026 National Gathering, Tides of Transition: Restoring Collective Spirit in Troubled Times, taking place October 23–25 at UC Davis. Share research, creative work and community-engaged practices through presentations, workshops and interactive sessions. Deadline: June 30.

Competitions, Challenges and Funding


St Andrews Study Abroad Award—Spring Semester 2027

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This award supports participation in the UCEAP University of St Andrews program. UC Davis students applying for the semester or academic year program through the 2025–26 application cycle are eligible. Awards of up to $7,000 are available. Deadline: June 19.

 

Rhodes Scholarship at the University of Oxford in England

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Rhodes Scholarship provides full funding for one to three years of master’s or doctoral study at the University of Oxford in England. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher and be between ages 18 and 27. Interested students must meet with Prestigious Scholarship Advisor Scott Palmer to access the pre-application. Campus pre-application deadline: June 28.

 

Marshall Scholarship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Marshall Scholarship provides full funding for one to two years of master’s or Ph.D. study at universities across the United Kingdom. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher. Interested students must meet with Prestigious Scholarship Advisor Scott Palmer to access the pre-application. Campus pre-application deadline: June 28.


World Food Forum (WFF) Youth Film Festival

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This global film competition invites young filmmakers to explore challenges in agrifood systems through film, including climate change, sustainability and innovation. Participants are encouraged to highlight diverse perspectives, untold stories and elements of intangible cultural heritage. Winners receive a $500 cash prize. Applicants must be 18–35 years old. Apply to the competition. Deadline: July 14.

 

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This program offers annual awards for U.S. citizens completing a bachelor’s degree by the 2025–26 academic year to conduct research, study or teach English in more than 140 countries. Campus deadline: September 3.


Luce Scholars Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Luce Scholars Program provides leadership training, language instruction, stipends and individualized professional placements across Asia for 18 scholars each year. Designed as an experiential program rather than an academic one, it is intended for emerging leaders, not those seeking research funding. Apply to the program. Deadline: September 8.

 

Schwarzman Scholars

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Receive a full scholarship for a one-year Master of Arts in Global Affairs at Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Scholars live and study on campus while completing a core curriculum in public policy, economics and business or international relations. Deadline: September 9.

 

Fulbright-Nehru Student Research Fellowships

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​These nine-month fellowships offer research opportunities in India for recent graduates (minimum bachelor’s degree required) and graduate students pursuing master’s or Ph.D. degrees. Campus deadline: September 2026.


Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This summer research internship supports U.S. students conducting advanced research projects in Canada from May–August 2027. Opportunities are available across a range of disciplines. Open to rising junior and senior undergraduates, the program includes funding for travel, housing and living expenses. Applications open in August.

University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Winter and spring 2027 applications are open and deadlines are approaching soon. Earn UC credit and use financial aid while studying abroad through UCEAP. Choose from a wide range of programs, including immersion, language and culture, special focus and internships. Find a program.

North America: Study at Cambridge with a Gates Cambridge Scholarship Webinar

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​June 10, 8–9 a.m., virtual. Learn about funding opportunities for master’s and Ph.D. programs at the University of Cambridge, including scholarships from Cambridge Trust, Gates Cambridge and external awards. This session is designed for students planning to apply for 2027 entry and covers funding options, eligibility requirements and application timelines.

 

Fulbright U.S. Student Program Overview

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​June 17, 2–3 p.m., virtual. Learn about the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, which funds one postgraduate year abroad to conduct independent research, serve as an English Teaching Assistant or pursue a master’s degree. Register for the overview session.
