Summer Abroad Program Spotlight: Environment & Society in Croatia (NEW)

Experience the natural beauty, culture and conservation of Lošinj, Croatia, through hands-on exploration of the island and Adriatic Sea. Students visit sea turtle and marine mammal conservation programs, explore historic sites and museums, and take a two-day excursion to nearby Susak Island while connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences.

University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Where will UCEAP take you? Make study abroad part of your UC experience with programs around the world offering UC credit and financial aid. Choose from university immersion, language and culture, specialized study and internships. Applications for 2026–27 programs open at the end of October. Get Matched with a Global Ambassador Peer Mentor

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Global Ambassador Mentorship Program matches first-year international undergraduates with a current undergraduate peer mentor who can help you navigate academics, campus involvement and student life. Make connections during your first quarter, engage in cross-cultural exchange and join fun social events. Limited spots available. Apply to the program.

Global Affairs United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Internship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Interns collaborate on projects that may involve research, outreach, communications, events and documenting UC Davis contributions to sustainable development. Learn how global challenges connect to priorities in your community while gaining hands-on experience and building professional skills. Apply to the internship. Fall 2026 Deadline: September 11.

Global Affairs Pal Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Pal Program pairs UC Davis undergraduate students for intercultural conversation experiences. Participants can use weekly one-hour sessions to develop their intercultural awareness, practice a target language and develop friendships. Fall quarter registration now open. Deadline: October 6.

U21 Sustainable Micro-Internships

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​These free two-week virtual internships connect UC Davis students with peers worldwide to tackle real global challenges related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Spaces are filled on a first-completed basis. The next sessions run from November through February. Join an upcoming info session on October 19. Apply to this internship program. Deadline: November 1.

Technical University of Munich Practical Research Experience (TUM PREP)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​July 1–August 26, 2027. UC Davis students are eligible to apply for the free TUM PREP program. Students may apply for up to three of 70 research projects and receive support through orientation, field trips and the TUM Buddies program. Apply to this program. Deadline: November 15.

Competitions, Challenges and Funding

The Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This funded summer research internship places U.S. undergraduates at Canadian universities for 10–12 weeks of faculty-supervised research. Students gain hands-on experience, professional development and cultural immersion across diverse academic fields with support from Fulbright Canada and Mitacs funding. Apply to the program. Deadline: September 16.

Max Planck School Matter to Life Undergrad Research Opportunities Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This funded 10-week research internship offers undergraduates faculty-supervised research opportunities in STEM fields across multiple German cities. Participants receive support for travel, accommodation and living expenses. Join an info session on September 18. Apply to this program. Deadline: October 1.

Gilman International Scholarship Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in study and internship abroad programs. Applications are now open for programs that start between December 1, 2026, and October 31, 2027. Register for our info session on September 17. Deadline: October 1.

DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) Scholars

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Funded summer internships in Germany are available for undergraduates in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, earth sciences and physics. Participants receive a monthly stipend for three months. Log in to the RISE portal to explore more than 450 internship opportunities. Applications open October 15.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This merit-based fellowship supports 30 New Americans who are immigrants or children of immigrants and pursuing graduate education in the United States. Fellows receive up to $90,000 over two years and are selected for their potential to make significant contributions to society, culture or their academic field. Deadline: October 29.

DAAD University Summer Course Grants

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Apply for a scholarship to participate in a three- to four-week summer course in Germany in 2027. Funding supports language and cultural studies courses as well as technical language courses and includes course costs, accommodation and a travel allowance. Deadline: October 30.

September 17, 7 p.m., virtual. The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in study and internship abroad programs. GoinGlobal Student Training

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​September 22, 1–2 p.m., virtual. As a UC Davis student, you have free access to GoinGlobal, a career platform with job search tools and resources for opportunities in the U.S. and abroad. Join this live training session to learn how to make the most of the platform. Register using your UC Davis email address.

Gilman Scholarship Essay Review Drop-Ins

Global Ambassador Welcome Event
​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 2, 5:30–7 p.m., International Center Lobby. Enjoy free food, create a vision board for your room, connect with students from around the world and enter a raffle for a chance to win prizes. Bring a friend. Everyone is welcome! Register for the event.

UC Davis International Agricultural Development​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
​October 6, 6 a.m., virtual. Learn about the UC Davis International Agricultural Development M.S. program, which combines land-grant research, a professionally embedded capstone and a global practitioner network spanning more than 30 countries. Hear from alumni working in international agricultural development and partners supporting capstone placements. Register for the info session.

UC Davis Global Learning Fair

Hosted by the Global Learning Hub, the fair features global leadership opportunities, study abroad programs, global internships, postgraduate opportunities, funding resources and more! Exploring Global Leadership Programs

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 15, 12–1 p.m., virtual. Curious about how to grow as a global leader? This information session introduces opportunities to strengthen leadership skills, engage across cultures and reflect on your values and goals while preparing for a meaningful global career. Marketing Your Global Experiences for the Job Search

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 21, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m., International Center 3119. Learn how to translate your global experiences for employers through resumes, cover letters and job interviews. In this workshop, we’ll help you articulate the skills you’ve gained through global experiences and communicate them effectively throughout your job search. Register for the workshop.

Engaging with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Program Opportunities with Global Affairs

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 22, 12–1 p.m., virtual. Learn about the SDGs and ways UC Davis students can get involved. This session provides an overview of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and highlights related programs and opportunities at UC Davis. Register for the info session.
