Dear Britt,

Thank you for praying for me as I was sick last Sunday. I am feeling much better, and I am excited to be back with you this week continuing our series “Exodus: The Road to Redemption.” Last week I was so proud of our team as Samuel Phipps and Jim Hembree filled in on short notice for me and Steve Skinner as we were both sick. We have a tremendous team, and we are blessed to have such talented ministers on our team.

This Sunday is going to be a really busy and rewarding day. We will have many of our missionaries with us in our worship gatherings and life groups as we celebrate Missions this week with our Global MPACT Celebration. Steve Wise and our missions team are continuing to lead the way forward in our mission efforts and we are grateful for their leadership. Be praying for us as we continue to reach our neighbors and the nations. God is doing something special among us. We are baptizing 11 people this week at First Baptist, and eight of them are being baptized on Sunday. Praise God for the incredible life change happening in our church. I love being your pastor.

See you Sunday,

September Prayer Focus

Pray for our upcoming Global MPACT Celebration (GMC) THIS Sunday September 24 through next Thursday the 28th. It is going to be a fantastic celebration, kicking off with Taste of the World at 6:00 PM in the Dining Hall. Enjoy an International Meal for the whole family. To register go to www.fbs.org/gmc. Pray for the many other events planned during the celebration and how you can participate. Pray for the workers planning to attend, serving locally, nationally, and globally. Pray for the GMC leadership team as they finalize plans. Please pray that every church member and attender would know their part to play in fulfilling the Great Commission.

The Bridge is a great place to serve!

TEW Message

Proverbs 3:9-10 (ESV) says, “Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.”

God’s word teaches us that when we honor Him first with our resources, He will bless us. This blessing is not just to provide for our needs, it alsow allows us to give more back to His Kingdom.

Your tithes and offerings to First Baptist allows the many ministries to keep going strong in order to reach more people for Christ. Thank you for your generous stewardship by faithfully giving of your firstfruits so we can see lives changed for eternity in Spartanburg and around the world.

As you think about your financial stewardship, here are a couple of the many options you can consider:

  • You can always give online, but if you are unable to attend on Sunday morning and don’t wish to give online, you can mail your gift to 250 East Main St. Spartanburg, SC 29306.

  • You can also stop by the church during office hours throughout the week and securely leave your gift in the drop box at the welcome center.
