COVID-19 RESOURCES & SUPPORT

We want to remind everyone that YANA also stands for Y ou A re N ot A lone. CARING CALLS & CARDMAKING WITH DOROT
Yale Community Connect is working
with DOROT to provide a number of volunteer opportunities to connect with older adults in NYC & Westchester.

Form a phone connection with an older adult and let them know you care.

Making a card is easy, fun, and important in the work that we do to decrease social isolation among seniors. Sometimes, a card from a DOROT volunteer is the only communication an older adult has on special occasions.

Connecting the dots to help your community & save the world without leaving your home

May 9 | Zoom Webinar
On a day that thousands of Yalies were scheduled to gather all over the world for the 12th Yale DAY of Service, the concept of gathering has changed dramatically. However, the need for community building and local support are in higher demand than ever. Speakers included: Andrew Burgie ’87, the hazardous materials training coordinator at New York University School of Global Public Health; Liam Elkind ’21 & Simone Policano '16, Co-Founders of Invisible Hands; and Alison Gardy ’88, Founder of Gardy Communication strategies. This webinar was moderated by Xiaoyan Huang ’91, MD, MHCM, FACC, who is a member of the Yale Alumni Board of Governors and is a cardiologist and Medical Director of General Cardiology at Providence Heart Clinic in Portland, OR.
