Yimer presents at Leading in Global Health Together
GOHi’s Eastern Africa Regional Director Dr. Getnet Yimer was invited by the organizing members of Leading in Global Health Together (LIGHT), formerly known as the International Health Interest Group, at Ohio State’s College of Medicine. Yimer gave a presentation to undergraduate students during his recent visit to Columbus, where he provided an overview of GOHi activities, the advantages, disadvantages and challenges of global health implementation, and the benefits of having global experiences.

Awa Aidara-Kane, MD, PhD, is a coordinator in the Department of Food Safety and Zoonosis, World Health Organization (WHO), and the lead in the
WHO Advisory Group on Integrated Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance (AGISAR), Geneva, Switzerland. She joined the WHO in 2002, and currently coordinates WHO's activities on containment of foodborne antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Aidara-Kane and the AGISAR have been a key GOHi partner.
