GOHi September webinar: "Salmonella, Biofilms and Chronic Carriage”
This month's webinar will occur on Thursday, September 13, 9 – 10 a.m. EST and 4 – 5 p.m. Eastern Africa Time. The webinar speaker this month is John Gunn, PhD, professor and interim chair at the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity and director of the biomedical science undergraduate program at the Ohio State College of Medicine.

Tuberculous Prevention Trial (WHIP 3TB) update
GOHi representatives attended a two-day workshop in July in Johannesburg, South Africa with researchers from Mozambique and South Africa sites to discuss achievements, challenges and ways to move the tuberculosis prevention clinical trial activities forward. The visit included a site visit to the Perinatal HIV Research Unit of the WHIP 3TB site. The team was composed of Getnet Yimer, MD, PhD, Achenef Kidane, MD, Hagos Biluts Mersha, MD, PGD, FCS, and Oumer Fuad Berta, Pharm.D.

Tom Shryock, PhD, is the chief scientific officer at Antimicrobial Consultants, LLC. Shryock founded the company in April 2015 to partner with clients on the discovery, development and regulatory approval of antimicrobial agents, alternatives, antimicrobial resistance, microbiological issues, as well as stewardship programs, policy development and training programs.
