This week, Atlanta Ministry with International Students (AMIS) shares a recipe from a student:
Taiwanese Soup
Grace (Yun-Hsuan Chen) hails from Taipei, Taiwan and sends us a hello:
I’m currently studying city planning and civil engineering dual degree at Georgia Tech. Being far away from home can create lots of ups and downs in your life, and it is not always easy. However, the things I've experienced and learned, the obstacles I've overcome, and the people I met here have made me grow. Such growth always ensure me that I had made the right choice to come here.

FPC's Global Mission Partnership with AMIS
|
|
Since 1978, AMIS has been welcoming international students and scholars to the Atlanta area through many programs and events which help them get to know our city and connect them to local families and individuals who want to serve and make international friends.
AMIS' international students come from over 50 different nations and are students at Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Emory, Columbia Theological Seminary, Agnes Scott, Kennesaw State, Morehouse College, Oglethorpe University, Atlanta Technical College, Chattahoochee Technical College and Georgia Southwestern University.
FPC partners with AMIS by providing an annual contribution. In the past FPC members have been active participants in AMIS' "Amigo" program, an opportunity for permanent Atlanta residents from local congregations to befriend an international student and accompany them through their time in Atlanta. Right now, AMIS is conducting the Amigo program virtually. There are a few international students waiting for friends this year. Interested participants can sign up here.

Half box (7oz) firm tofu, cut into pieces (around 0.5 inch thick)
5 slices fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, sliced
4 cups of vegetable broth or 1 tablespoon of bouillon with 4 cups of water
Salt (optional)
1-2 eggs (optional), mix the egg yolk and egg white in a bowl
- Slice ginger and garlic into small pieces, wash the green vegetables, cut the tofu into pieces, and chop the tomatoes. Beat and mix the eggs in a bowl (optional).
- Put a pot on stove, turn on medium to high heat, pour a small amount of oil, add ginger slices and garlic slices, and heat it there until you can smell the fragrance of the garlic and ginger. They should be golden but not burned.
- Add the broth (bouillon with water) in the pot, add the tofu, tomatoes at the same time, boil on high heat and turn to low heat after it is boiled, and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Turn on high heat, add the green vegetables and eggs (optional), add salt (optional), and turn off the heat after 1-2 minutes.

Loving God,
We thank you for this meal and the hands that prepared it.
We thank you for friends from around the world who remind us of your creativity and glory shining through all the nations.
In Jesus's name, Amen.
