The Future of Work is Diverse, Inclusive, Just and Equitable

GlobalMindED closes the equity gap by creating a capable, diverse talent pipeline through connections to role models, mentors, internships for low-income students, returning adults, First Gen to college and inclusive leaders who teach them, work with them and hire them.
GlobalMindED Response to the Supreme Court Rulings in 'Students for Fair Admissions' Case, Student Loan Forgiveness, and LBGTQIA+

The GlobalMindED community was enormously disappointed in yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling as it goes against the grain of our core values. This morning, the Supreme Court struck down a student loan forgiveness plan and the right for the LBTQIA+ community to have equal access to business providers.

All three of these decisions further our resolve to marshall the strength of our community to advance opportunities for First Gen to college and diverse students and underscores the need for us to amplify our programs and efforts to create a capable, diverse talent pipeline.

There has never been a more important time to advocate for and achieve our goals:

  • Support First Gen to College students by providing resources and access to role models, mentors, internships, and jobs.
  • Enable the least-resourced students who start college to graduate with a minimum of two internships and one mentor.
  • Advance higher education opportunities for those from communities who have suffered systemic generational poverty and social injustice resulting from stolen lands, stolen freedom, and stolen access.
  • Ensure that those who desire to go to college can attend and earn a degree regardless of income.
  • Partner with employers to advance diverse talent to all levels of leadership.
  • Increase our inclusive, respectful, and diverse community of learners, earners, leaders, and civic-minded individuals who leverage their success to create opportunities for others.

We are grateful to all of the foundations who signed the Philanthropic Joint Statement in Response to theSupreme Court's Decision in 'Students for Fair Admissions' Cases including ECMC, whose eloquent response to yesterday's ruling is worth sharing as an example of responsive leadership.  Those leaders, businesses, and organizations who stand up to this ruling have a stronger than ever resolve to uphold and deliver our American values where all can succeed at college and continue with career opportunities and advancement that are gratifying and fairly compensated. We are grateful for the determined, tough, resilient, and unstoppable strength of the GlobalMindED community of inclusive leaders and for the fearless students we serve who are role models of access for all.
