Jon Gonsoulin's  Viking 70  Done Deal (above) recently won the 13th Annual Lone Star Shootout for the third time with three blue marlin releases.  Done Deal   was one of 49 boats fishing the tournament out of Port O'Connor, Texas.  Captain Jason Buck also led the team to 1st Place Billfish Release and Top Crew.
Last year's champ, Backlash, was a close overall second. The Viking 65, owned by Jackie Hunter, weighed a 566-pounder to win the blue marlin category and released a pair of blues to claim 3rd Place Billfish Release.
Alan and Robyn Roberts' Viking 92 No Compromise took 2nd Place Blue Marlin with Captain Bill Cannan putting his team on a 438-pound fish, and Over Ride, Marty Griffith's Viking 64, was close behind in 3rd Place. Third Place Tuna was awarded to Pete Bell and his crew on the Viking 68 High Cotton with a 103-pound fish. Kannan Lasserre was the tournament's Top Junior Angler. Kannan released a blue marlin while fishing on Chris Huele's Viking 74 Draggin' Up.
Raisin' Fish


Captain Mike Osborn sent us some pictures of the Viking 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht ,  Marybelle , while enjoying time in Chub Cay, Bahamas - but they weren't what we expected from this luxury vessel. While out on a fun fishing trip heading back toward south Florida, the crew released two blue marlin on a triple header. Two fish were hooked at the bow while a third was fought in the cockpit. Captain Mike said, "I'm really pumped about this boat and especially its fishing abilities!" Who said motor yachts don't raise fish?
Jersey Bite
Viking Yachts were well represented in the 2nd Annual Hoffman's Marina Offshore Tournament in Brielle, New Jersey. Captain Brian Dwyer and his crew on the Viking 55 Slabjack claimed the top spot in both the yellowfin and longfin categories. George and Lorraine Conway claimed 1st Place Mahi on their Viking 60 Placid C's.
