2020 Seniors Reflect
As the school year rolls ever-closer to graduation, members of the Senior class will share some thoughts about what EAA has meant to them and what they will miss once graduation is over and they are alumni.

"EAA has been a great school for education and friends. I will miss the fun jokes and laughs we had together, and the amazing teachers."
Emily Seals - Senior Class Vice-President for Communications
And, the Winner Is...
Each year the Escondido Rotary Club sponsors a Speech Contest. Students from local schools, prepare and present speeches based on a given topic. For the 2020 contest, EAA sent two representatives, Juniors Rebecca Perrington and Sam Kim . The topic for this year was "The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say or do."

  1. Is it the Truth?
  2. Is it Fair to all concerned?
  3. Will it build Good Will and Better Friendships?
  4. Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

EAA's own Sam Kim was chosen as the winner of the contest, In addition to a monetary prize, Sam will move on and compete in the regional contest. Congratulations, to both Sam and Rebecca for showing the best of EAA to the Rotary members of Escondido. Good Luck, Sam, on the next phase of the competition.

Engineers in Training
How much weight can four plastic cups and popsicle-sized wooden sticks hold? Mrs. Shetler's young Engineers found the answer to that question as they built structures and then tested them to see how well they stood up to a weight challenge. Pretty amazing stuff!

Rainy day lunch in the auditorium.
Cupids need houses, too. The students in Mrs. McCary's 1&2 grade classroom celebrated Valentine's Day by making gingerbread Cupid Houses and having sack races. Hearts were EVERYWHERE!
Winn Dixie Party for Grades 4 & 5
Today we celebrated friendship by recreating a Because of Winn Dixie party, a book we recently finished. We copied the party items from our book: jars of pickles, peanut butter (sunflower butter), cheese, egg salad sandwiches, Dump Punch and Littmus Lozenges. We decorated with lights, dog pictures, and pastel colored streamers!

Praising God At EAA
Each week the chapel is the spot where EAA students and staff gather to spend some time praising God. High school students meet on Thursdays, while MS students meet Friday morning and TK-5 make chapel their last activity before dismissal on Friday. The pictures show preparation for MS worship.
Principal Davis shares his belief that no matter what fears are faced, God is walking right beside us to help us through.
Congratulations! It is a Pleasure to Inform You...
Twelve years of hard work leads up to this moment for high school seniors. Hours of study, hundreds of tests, dozens of papers...all of it helps to determine what the future will bring for these students. EAA is very pleased to celebrate an important event with two of the International Seniors. Working with Justin Depuydt, from International University Alliance, Tibbers Bai and Aker Pan were presented with letters of acceptance on Friday, February 7. Congrats on this huge step toward your educational goals!
Tibbers Chenxi Bai received acceptance into Auburn University. Tibbers plans to study Business.
Aker Wushi Pan received letters of acceptance from University of Utah and Louisiana State University. Aker wants to study Sports Management.
Hands-On Science for Grades 1 & 2
For a wonderful, hands-on learning experience, there are few places better than the Rueben H. Fleet Science Center located in Balboa Park. 1st and 2nd graders, along with their fearless leader, Mrs. McCary, spent February 6 turning every knob and spinning every wheel. In addition, they saw the IMAX feature, "Turtle Odyssey."
Thank you to the wonderful parents who helped sponsor this
 field trip.
What a great day!
Integrity Emphasized at Bible Conference
Each year the Southeastern California Conference sponsors a Bible Conference for Juniors and Seniors. The annual conference, held at Pine Springs Ranch, featured speaker Pastor Iki Taimi, who shared thoughts with the 300+ students in attendance on the Conference theme of Integrity . EAA was well-represented by 25 student leaders, seven of whom are EAA Family Group Leaders. It is always exciting to see how these student leaders bring excitement back to campus after this experience.
Special thanks to sponsors, Mr. & Mrs. Martinez and Mr. Davis.
Dreams and Careers Start at EAA
During their time at EAA, Sydney Du and Kiana Shetler developed a close friendship. They soon discovered that they shared a love of photography and decided to venture into the world of business and begin their own photography business. There have been challenges since both young women are in school and are living in different states. However, they love meeting and connecting with people and capturing that photo that will be a lasting memory. Their goals include becoming photographers who specialize in weddings and elopements.

The Davis Principles
Hawks Family,

I recently had the privilege of attending the SECC Junior & Senior Bible Conference at Pine Springs Ranch with several of our upper-classmen. It was an action-packed three days filled with fellowship, worship, and the Word presented to the students by Pastor Iki Taimi.

As the students were constantly confronted with the message centered around Integrity, I was blessed by the words found in Romans 8:14, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." I love that our students came home on fire for Christ, and ready to bring some of that fire to their own campus. What I love the most is that we were reminded that we are all children of God.

We are blessed to work together each day with our students and families. May we never forget that collectively, we are all part of His family.
