God Continues to Open Doors

Greetings Ministry Partners,

God continues to bless the work in Central America and open new doors of opportunity. Last month, God allowed Sandra and me to meet a whole new group of pastors and ministry leaders in Honduras, where we led a five-day Bible Conference for the Bay Island Baptist Churches on Roatan. More than 400 people attended the conference, representing 11 churches.

While in Honduras, I also had the opportunity to spend time with the president of the Honduras Baptist Convention. It seems God is preparing to use CCI strategically in Honduras over the next 10 years. The Baptist Convention needs to train many new pastors to replace retiring leaders and plant new churches. Please pray that God will raise up key leaders in Honduras to lead this work.

The ministry in Guatemala continues to grow, with several classes preparing to graduate in 2027. The recently established work in Chiquimula is also progressing well. Pastor Hugo Lopez is seeing great success with his two classes, and we are encouraging several graduates to begin new classes along the coast.

We are still waiting for new classes to begin in Costa Rica and additional classes to launch in Belize later this year. Pastor Joel continues to faithfully teach his class in Bella Vista, Belize. Please pray for him as he leads this ministry.

Guatemala

The Lord is really blessing the ministry in Guatemala. We now have classes in several regions of the country. We are especially excited that Pastor Hugo Lopez is now teaching two classes in Chiquimula, in the eastern part of the country.

This time last year, we did not have any classes in the eastern side of Guatemala. Ricky Cope and his family have been in Chiquimula for several years and have been praying for God to open some avenue for the pastors and church leaders in their city to be trained. The Lord has used Pastor Hugo and CCI to answer that prayer.

A couple of the classes will be ready to graduate in 2027, so we should have another wonderful graduation trip next summer. Praise the Lord.

Hamid Gutiérrez continues to lead the ministry in Quetzaltenango and Huehuetenango while mentoring Pastor Miguel and Jorge Xicara.
Otto Echeveria continues to mentor Pastor Hugo Lopez while teaching classes in Chimaltenango. He also oversees CCI classes in Coatepeque, La Lima, and Tecún Umán.
Charlotte Hernandez faithfully manages the ministry's financial records and maintains the CCI inventory.

Honduras

Sandra and I traveled to Honduras in June to lead a five-day Bible Conference for the Bay Island Churches. It was a wonderful time of fellowship with about 375 new friends representing 11 churches from the islands of Roatan and Guanaja.

During the conference, I also had the opportunity to share CCI's vision with pastors and church leaders and to discuss the possibility of starting training classes on both islands. Please pray that God will stir the hearts of these pastors to equip the leaders in their churches through biblical training, and that He will open the door for new CCI classes to begin on Roatan and Guanaja.

Prayer Requests & Praises

Please join us in prayer for the following:

Praise God for the opportunity to minister to more than 400 people from 11 churches during the Bay Island Baptist Bible Conference in Honduras, and pray that the relationships established will lead to new CCI classes.
Pray that God will raise up pastors and church leaders in Honduras to replace retiring pastors, plant new churches, and lead the growing CCI ministry.
Pray for the pastors preparing to start new CCI classes later this year, including in Costa Rica, Belize City, and on the island of Guanaja.
Praise God for the continued growth of the ministry in Guatemala, and pray for the classes preparing to graduate in 2027 and for new classes to begin along the coast.
Pray for Pastor Joel as he faithfully teaches in Bella Vista, Belize, and for God's continued blessing on the ministry throughout Central America.
Pray for Charlotte Hernandez as she recovers from surgery and prepares to host a large mission team from Pennsylvania in late July.
Pray for Jorge Xicara and his wife, Marlen, as she continues her battle with cancer. Ask God to grant them strength, peace, and grace, and pray for Jorge as he continues to teach his CCI classes faithfully.
Pray for wisdom and unity as plans are made for the upcoming Central America Leadership Retreat.
