May 2019 - ACCTS Activity

 

 
Every six months, the ACCTS staff of about 60 is asked to report on their ministry activity for the past six months, and their plans for the next six months. Their reports are consolidated and given the ACCTS board so they can perform their corporate responsibilities assessing ACCTS ministry effectiveness, providing policy and guidance and setting strategic goals.  The staff was asked to list their activities under the three strategic goals below.  Here are excerpts of their responses:
 
Strategic Goal 1:  P repare military Christian personnel for spiritual growth and ministry
-  Mentored ACCTS Moldova staff member 
-  Coordinated 2019 summer language camps in Moldova, Mongolia and Ukraine 
-  Discipled international military students in San Antonio and Dayton
-  Took two US and two UK cadets on joint ACCTS/MMI tour of Western European battlefields to study the faith lessons from various battles, and help them learn to integrate their faith with their military careers
-  Hosted monthly online AMCF prayer group and began a parallel group to accommodate participants in European and African time zones
-  Facilitated Bible Studies for numerous international students in Texas and Ohio, including Brazil, Congo, Madagascar, Nigeria, and Turkey
-  Discipled military Christians from more than 40 nations
 
Strategic Goal 2:   Help establish and strengthen military Christian fellowships (MCFs)
-  Attended MCF conferences in Argentina (110 participants from several nations), Australia, Canada, East Asia (9 nations), Germany, India, Netherlands, Romania and Russia to teach and offer encouragement
-  Met with 50 delegates from 22 nations ( Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine) at Lubbecke MCF leaders meeting to discuss 
"Partnership in the Gospel"and offer encouragement
-  Traveled to Antigua, Barbados, Bhutan, Czech Republic (20  thAnniversary), Grenada, Indonesia, Moldova, Myanmar, Nepal, St. Kitts, Singapore, Asia, Thailand, Ukraine and Vietnam to encourage and disciple MCFs
-  Published November 2018 Association of Military Christian Fellowships Handbook (AMCF) update and streamlined processes to facilitate more timely future updates.
-  Continued planning to host Quinquennial Council in October 2019
-  Held periodic teleconferences with MMI and MSO leaders to coordinate AMCF) support around the world
-  Continued to mentor and disciple a member of the Mongolian MCF studying in Colorado
-  Continued to encourage and advise AMCF VPs, and developed a VP Orientation program to prepare new VPs for their duties
-  Helped AMCF President recruit new AMCF VPs for Central, North, and South America, Pacific and Southeast Asia Regions
-  Participated in IAEC Basic Chaplaincy training in Madagascar
-  Held Chaplains Interaction training for delegates from 9 nations to help meet growing MCF requests for chaplaincies within their uniformed services
 
Strategic Goal 3:  Broaden ACCTS support base and expand its ministry
-  Hosted "China Dinner" for 25 guests ICW National Prayer Breakfast to share ACCTS mission and ministry
-  Coordinated monthly Hampton Roads United Military Ministry luncheon to share ACCTS mission and ministry
-  Took a videographer to several Asian nations to record interviews with locals on importance of ACCTS/AMCF ministries
-   Posted ACCTS ministry activities and prayer requests on social media such as Facebook and WhatsApp
-  Published monthly   "God Stories" about how God is using ACCTS' ministries among the uniformed services of the world
-  Interviewed for Frontlines of Freedom, a weekly radio talk show, to discuss ACCTS mission and ministry
-  Shared ACCT'S mission and vision with local chapels, chaplains, and churches both in US and abroad 

Planned Future Activities:

April: 

-  Teach English to Mongolian cadets and officers 

-  Support Swedish MCF 50thanniversary

-  Continue planning for regional AMCF conference in Panama

 

May:

- Attend 90 th  anniversary of the Swedish MCF

June: 
Interaction - Rocky Mountain High
- Support Japanese MCF meeting
- Provide Instructors for annual Korean MCF Discipleship Program, MEO

July:  

-  Meet with other PSO leaders after MEO to finalize Quinquennial Council plans

-  Support Ukraine/Moldova language camps

 

August: 

-  Support East Asia MCF Conference in Japan (9 nations)

 

September:  

-  Support AMCF Latin America Conference in Panama

-  Annual Staff Meeting

El Shaddei, Lord of the universe, thank you for enabling the ACCTS staff to minister to so many military Christians over the last six months.  May the seeds of their ministry bear much fruit to bring you honor and glory.

-  Gracious heavenly Father, you know the plans you have for ACCTS, plans for good and not for evil, to give us hope and a future.  Bless our board members as they provide oversight and guidance for the days ahead

Jehovah Jireh, our God who provides,  we pray that you continue to sustain the ACCTS ministry, so that we might continue to prepare militaryary Christians for ministry, strengthen MCFs, and follow your will into new ministries.
