October 2016 - ACCTS Ministry Report

 
 
Every six months, the ACCTS staff is asked to report their ministry activity in the context of ACCTS three Strategic Goals: 1 - "Train and Equip Christian Uniformed Personnel for Ministry;" 2 - Establish and Strengthen Military Christian Fellowships (MCFs) around the World;" and 3 -  "Broaden ACCTS Base of Support and Expand our Ministry."  Here is a summary of the ministry reported by our staff of 70 from April through September 2016.
 
Strategic Goal One: ACCTS
  • Trained active duty participants from 5 countries on Interaction - Rocky Mountain High
    • Provided training on Prayer, the Pray & Plan Process, Personal Testimony, Inductive Bible Study, and Christian leadership
    • Coordinated faith building exercises with outdoor adventure activities
  • Took Valley Forge Military Academy & West Point cadets to Japan and China for a two-week  ACCTS Exploration Asia trip
  • Discipled international students in DC, Hampton Roads, Monterey, San Antonio, and Wright Patterson AFB (WPAFB)
    • Discipled 17 students from 11 countries in San Antonio
    • Discipled students from Papua, New Guinea and Tonga in Australia
    • Provided hospitality and ministry to numerous students, many from from Muslim countries, at WPAFB
  • Planned an October 2016 Chaplain Interaction training event in San Antonio, and an April 2017 event at WPAFB
    • Ten 2016 candidates from Brazil, Cameroon, Croatia, Guatemala, Honduras, Nepal, Uganda.
  • Encouraged numerous chaplains and other military ministry activities that disciple military personnel with visits, phone calls and emails
  • Discipled 150 US and Japanese military members and their families on Okinawa
  • Served as Special Professional Ethics Advisor to cadets at the USAFA
  • Helped plan military Christian leader training courses in Guatemala and Peru
  • Planned for and participated in a September 2016 Chaplain Training course in Cameroon
Strategic Goal Two:
  • Traveled to or interacted with military Christian leaders from 54 countries (Al Udeid, Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Central Asia [5], Chad, China, Djibouti, Egypt, England, Fiji, France, Georgia, Germany, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Madagascar, Malaysia, Moldova, Mongolia, Okinawa, Oman, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Poland, New Zealand, Romania, Scotland, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Zambia) to encourage, disciple, and help strengthen MCFs through conferences, teaching and service
  • Helped plan regional MCF conferences in Central and South America
  • Traveled to Georgia to discuss formation of an MCF, and how ACCTS' ministries could help
  • Discussed initiatives with the Madagascar MCF for American English Language Training and family support
  • Planned an October 2016 trip to Vietnam to explore ways to expand their MCF
  • Participated in Korea's Missionary Support Organization's Missionary Evangelistic Observation program to disciple military Christian leaders from 15 nations with either a weak, or no MCF in the principles of starting and maturing an MCF
  • Delivered 170 digital Bibles in 5 languages to 6 MCF's in Central and Southeast Asia
    • Planned October 2016 delivery of 200 digital Bibles to Moldova and Romania
  • Presented a paper on the role of the Association of Military Christian Fellowship's (AMCF) role in promoting peace and managing risk at a reconciliation conference in Germany
  • Completed translating the AMCF Manual into Spanish
Strategic Goal Three:
  • Shared ACCTS mission and ministry with numerous churches and chapels across the US
    • Began registration process in every state to facilitate fund raising
    • Visited many supporters around the US to thank and encourage them
  • Added a staff member for ministry in the Caribbean Region
  • Added an Associate Staff member for ministry in Eastern Europe
  • Updated the ACCTS website and refined the ACCTS App for mobile devices
    • Published monthly ACCTS newsletter and prayer reminder in multiple languages
    • Shared ACCTS mission and ministry on both public and private Facebook pages
    • Published monthly "God Stories" for 300 subscribers to share what God is doing through ACCTS ministries
    • Published the on-line "Journal of Faith & War,"which explores the spiritual nature of leadership in the formulation and execution of national security policies and strategies for English-speaking nations
  • Participated in the Welcome Home Initiative for veterans suffering from combat trauma
Praise God that He provided the resources for all of this ministry, and guided the staff who accomplished it!

- Father God, thank you for your grace and mercy in guiding and sustaining ACCTS' ministry around the globe.  Guard and guide those to whom we minister so that one day, every one in uniform will have heard the Gospel from someone wearing the same uniform.

- Lord of All, continue we pray to bless those who serve you so faithfully, and enable them to minister to military Christians in every nation of your creation.

-  Jehovah Jireh, our God who provides, send your Holy Spirit to those whom ACCTS has trained and equipped, that they might be bold in your service to their comrades.
