May 2018 - ACCTS in Action Spring 2018

 


ACCTS' Strategic Plan has three goals: 1. Prepare military Christian personnel for spiritual growth and ministry; 2. Help establish and strengthen military Christian fellowships (MCF); 3.  Broaden ACCTS' support base and expand its ministry.  The following excerpts from ACCTS staff reports from October 2017 through March 2018 speak to how we are achieving these goals.
 
 Strategic Goal 1:  Prepare military Christian personnel for spiritual growth and ministry
 -      Traveled to Russia for their MCF meeting to provide encouragement - a Russian language Bible distributed in 2003 was being read on the Moscow subway
-        Hosted the leader of the Haitian MCF during a CONUS course
-        Traveled to El Salvador to follow up with students discipled at DLI
-        Distributed Bible sticks in Moldova, Romania and Asia
-        Discipled international military students in San Antonio, TX and Dayton, OH
-        Traveled to Poland to discuss cooperative efforts between ACCTS, MMI and the MCF to meet the spiritual needs of their military
-        Helped plan Central America Conference in Guatemala
-        Traveled to Taiwan to follow up with students discipled at DLI
-        Took 2 West Point and 2 British cadets on a tour of western European battlefields to discuss spiritual lessons at each site
-        Ministered to personnel from Argentina, Armenia, Brazil, China, Jordan, Pakistan, and Turkey at Wright-Patterson AFB
-        Provided counseling and mentoring for military wives
-        Traveled to Cambodia to offer MCF encouragement and disciple 18 MCF members
-        Traveled to Myanmar to encourage MCF and disciple 26 members
-        Discipled 21 students from 15 countries at DLI
 
Strategic Goal 2:  Help establish and strengthen military Christian Fellowships
 
-        Attended Association of Military Christian Fellowships (AMCF) European leaders meeting in Luebbecke, Germany to focus on meeting MCF needs in Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Great Britain, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kosovo, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine
-        Traveled to Ukraine for their MCF Pray and Plan on the Ukrainian chaplaincy
-        Traveled to Spain to encourage the MCF and share ACCTS work with other MCFs. 
-        Traveled to Georgia to share ACCTS programs of interest to the National Defense Academy such as AELT and I-RMH
-        Hosted leader of Israel's MCF traveling in the US and explored ministry opportunities
-        Traveled to Canada for the Canadian MCF annual Spiritual Retreat
-        In Indonesia, dormant MCF has a new Board president who is determined to plant MCF chapters across the country
-        In India, ACCTS staff attended the Pan-India conference, and helped encourage a new MCF chapter to form
-        Traveled to Bulgaria to help plan the 20th  anniversary of their MCF, attend a conference on the 500th  anniversary of the Reformation, and participate in the second annual Orthodox Consultation of military chaplains
-        Traveled to Poland to help celebrate the Poland MCF's 20th  anniversary
-        Despite heavy security in Vietnam due to a world leaders meeting, ACCTS staff were able to help establish 3 new MCF chapters, and plan the development of another
-        In Malaysia, offered encouragement to their MCF
-        In Bangladesh, shared ACCTS' vision and mission with fully Integrated Protestant-Catholic MCF, the only one in Asia
-        In Thailand, met with 125+ MCF members to encourage their focus on cadet ministry
-        Traveled to Cape Verde to encourage recent Chaplain Interaction graduate
-        Traveled to Chile to encourage their MCF
-        Attended Caribbean MCF leaders meeting, and later visited many of the MCFs
-        Updated the AMCF Reference Handbook and streamlined the process for future updates
-        Prayed daily for numerous AMCF and MCF leaders, and encouraged others on Facebook
 
Strategic Goal 3:  Broaden ACCTS support base and expand its ministry
-        Attended the Fellowship Christian Military Ministries meeting at Fort Jackson, SC to share ACCTS mission and ministry - developed a catalog of member ministries with capabilities that could augment ACCTS' ministry
-        Held a monthly prayer teleconference to share and pray for AMCF ministries
-        Invited other ministries to  AMCF North American Region week of prayer 
-        Attended Military Ministry International supporters weekend to share ACCTS d ministry
-        Coordinated monthly Hampton Roads United Military Ministry luncheon to share ACCTS mission and ministry
-        Participated in weekly OCF Bible Study and shared ministry needs, gained two supporters
-        Continued to publish ACCTS and AMCF newsletters
-        Developed relationship with Inter-American Air Force Academy Commandant in San Antonio and shared ACCTS mission and vision
-        Planned a joint visit with CRU Military staff to meet with Fort Hood Cadence staff to explore feasibility of a joint interaction for international military students
-        Shared ACCTS mission and vision with local chapels and churches both in US and abroad

-  Father God, you know the plans you have for ACCTS and they are plans for good and not for evil.  Bless and keep us as we seek your will for our ministries.

- Jehovah Jireh, our God who provides, thank you for enabling tACCTS ministry programs.  May our work in your name  continue to be a source of blessing and spiritual growth for those who participate.
