Several years ago, ACCTS and "Fatih Comes By Hearing" (FCBH) became partners n the Gospel. ACCTS has been ministering to the uniformed services of the world for nearly 45 years, helping to establish millitary Christian Fellowships and develop Christian military leaders. FCBH, then known as Hosanna, started nearly 45 years ago as a Christian tape lending library. Over the years, their ministry grew to provide audio Bibles in various foms and many differen languages to "Cover the World with God's Word." By 2008, FCBH had developed a self-powered digital Bible Stick designed especially for the military. The device was was available at no cost thanks to a generous donor base of over 9,000 churches who have now funded over 600,000 military BiubleSticks.
As part of ACCTS' mission to help develop military Christian leaders, some ACCTS staff began attending Chaplain Annual Sustainment Training (CAST)
conferences
in 2009 to pray with, encourage and minister to chaplains. In His wisdom, God arranged to have ACCTS and FCBH located at adjoining booths during some of these CAST conferences. Business cards were exchanged, and discussions about each other's ministry revealed potential for a fruitful collaboration. One of ACCTS' ministry tools is inductive Bible Study, which often proves difficult in the field using paper Bibles. The military Bible Stick, particularly in a broad range of languages, seemed to be an excellent solution. ACCTS and FCBH began discussions in the spring of 2013 on how the BibleStick concept might be adapted for distribution to international military Christians in their native languages.
It was decided to test the plan in Moldova, where ACCTS has a long standing relationship with the Military Christian Fellowship. A concept of employment was developed to deliver the digital Bibles in both Romanian and Russian to Moldovan military Christians, while assuring compliance with Ministry of Defense and customs regulations. In March of 2014, an ACCTS staff member and the vice-president of FCBH delivered 600 digital Bibles, 500 in Romanian, and 100 in Russian, to the Moldova Military Christian Fellowship (MCF). Here are some of the testimonies from those who received the Bibles:
-
Being able to listen to the Word of God helps me understand important things, and has made me a better person.
-
I could listen to to the Bible while I was on patrol, and sometimes I connect to a speaker and listen with all my family.
-
The MP3 Bible is very useful to police officers. I can connect to the Word of God and this is how I decided to pray to God to save me.
-
When I listen to the Scripture, I realise that I'm a sinner, and that I need God.
With the decennial Global Interaction gathering ing of military Christian leaders from around the world planned for South Africa in December 2014, it was decided to provide each participant with a digital Bible in their own language. Nearly 1,400 bibles were distributed, spreading the Gospel thourgh the uniformed services of more than 100 countries. ACCTS' Asia ministry then became involved, and has now delivered over 200 digital Bibles in various languages across Asia. With advancements in technology, and the proliferation of smart phones and computers, FCBH has developed min SD card versions of the Bible in various languages, some of them encoded to avoid confiscation in nations intolerant of Christians. Such miniaturization has also significantly enhanced transportation and delivery of an important ministry tool.
God has now used this ministry partnership between ACCTS and FCBH to put His Word in the hands of more than 2,000 military Christians around the globe. Praise be to God!
