Each fall, the ACCTS staff gather at the Officer’s Christian Fellowship retreat center in White Sulphur Springs, PA for a week-long time of vision casting, fellowship and updates on our various ministry activities. This year’s staff meeting will run from Sunday 1 October through Friday 6 October, with the theme, “Where there is no Vision, the People Perish.” (Pr. 29:18). The staff meeting occurs immediately after the Board meeting to facilitate attendance by board members at their discretion.
Planning for this annual event usually begins in May, with an announcement of the dates and the theme and a solicitation of potential attendees. In addition to ACCTS regular, associate, and emeritus staff, partners in the Gospel from ministry partners such as CRU and Olive Branch International and the other Principal Supporting Organizations for the Association of Military Christian Fellowships (AMCF) – Military Ministries International (MMI) in the UK and the Missionary Support Organization (MS) in Korea – are invited to come and share their ministry news with us.
With the 2024 AMCF World Conference in Brazil just a year away, a primary focus for this year’s gathering will be the creation of a common vision for supporting the World Conference with our time, our talent, and our treasure to ensure that its theme “Arise and Shine; for your time has come” from Isaiah 60:1 is accomplished. In addition to fellowship and discipleship, the 2024 Conference is being planned to explore the development of future military Christian leaders round the world.
In addition to vision casting, the ACCTS staff meeting will include ministry reports from both regional and functional staff: Asia, China, Europe, North and South America, Ethics, International Student Ministry, International Chaplain Training, and the ACCTS Exploration Program. These reports are not only informative, but also inspirational as examples of God’s work around the world are shared. The agenda also includes many opportunities for prayer and ample free time for fellowship and the enjoyment of God’s creation in the 1.000+ acres of fields and forests surrounding the conference center.
Pray the God will bless this year’s gathering, and superintend the activities that His will might be accomplished
