Pastor's Points

The word "together" comes from the Olde English togedere, which means "to be present in one place" or "in unity in a body."

Sunday is a fifth Sunday, which means we will all be together in Kobler Hall for breakfast at 8:30, then one worship experience at 10:15. During worship the pastors and leaders will share a bit about the process of voting on priorities/goals for 2027, then at the end of the message all will have the opportunity to vote, either on paper or using a QR code to vote online. As part of the offering, we will dedicate the offering as well as the votes, all to be used for God's service.

This is an important day because it represents a culmination of a lot of prayer, planning, thought, and discernment and begins a new chapter here at FUMC. In setting priorities together, we do more than just make some decisions to focus our ministry and God's work, but we tangibly and collectively come together with discerning hearts, committing ourselves to the work God has set before us. We will be a little less focused on our individual needs and the ministries in which we are involved but keep in mind that we are One Body in Christ, something bigger than ourselves, seeking to do God's work and will.

We truly hope you will be a part of this coming together of the Church, as we live into God's future together.

Youth Ministry Email Update

This coming Sunday August 30th is a 5th Sunday! On 5th Sunday's we only have one service and families are encouraged to worship together. As such, we won't be having Sunday School, but we will be having Youth Worship from 4-6pm. See you Sunday!

It's time to build a home for our neighbors

Tour the first Jeremiah Community home on Sept. 13!

For eight years, our downtown churches have prayed for a permanent, supportive home for our unhoused neighbors—the vision we call Jeremiah Community. The moment is here! A prototype for the first Jeremiah Community home will be built over 72 hours in September on the campus of the Oberle Academy. Micah is working with Atlantic Builders, along with trade partners, HomeAid National Capital Region and students in Oberle's Career and Technical Education program, on the home, which will be built Sept. 8-10. YOU are invited to come tour the prototype and learn more about Jeremiah Community—which will officially break ground later this year. Micah will hold an open house on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., at the prototype site at 404 Willis St., Fredericksburg, VA, 22401 . We will hold a house blessing at 3 p.m. Please come celebrate with us!
