How Coronavirus Affects Us at
God's Acre MCC
Whether you're a member, or a visitor, your safety is our top priority.
Working with the Board of Directors, I am closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and we are taking action based on guidance from public health experts - Marion County Health Department, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Sunday services WILL go ahead, as usual, but in order to maintain a safe environment and address any concerns, that any of you may have, we are taking appropriate measures including:
* Enhanced Cleaning Protocols:
we have increased the frequency of cleaning within the building; the sanctuary, fellowship hall, kitchen, bathrooms & office spaces will all be thoroughly cleaned weekly; we'll especially ensure that hard surfaces are wiped down to eliminate as many germs as possible.
* Additional Antibacterial Products: w
e have increased the quantity (as supply allows) of sanitizers, hand soap, kitchen towel, disinfectant wipes and sprays available to you all.
*Gloves and Tissues: we are providing gloves and boxes of tissues; we would ask you to use gloves if you are serving in ministry, handling food or cleaning any area. Tissues are provided for sneezes, coughs & runny noses!
IF you feel at all unwell - and we do have some members with compromised immune systems - we would ask you (just as a precaution) to stay home until the symptoms are gone.
We are aware that some of you may just wish to avoid groups of people for a week or two, and that's fine too; you will still all receive our newsletter on a Monday morning; I am also available to chat on the phone, or via email.
* Our Eucharistic Servers will wear clear vinyl gloves when distributing communion, for your safety.
* During Potluck, our servers will also be wearing vinyl gloves when prepping and serving food.
* When greeting each other, and especially when passing the peace in service, we would ask that you bump elbows or offer the Namaste peace sign to one another.
IF you do decide to stay at home, we do ask you to remember to send in your tithes and offerings; unfortunately our bills don't stop arriving because of a virus! You can send a check to our PO Box, or use our online donate button, on our website.
YOUR safety is our priority; we really hope to see you each Sunday; we are MCC and, as long as we all keep washing our hands & taking precautions, we can beat this.
I will continue to monitor, and respond to, the latest COVID-19 with member safety top of our agenda.
Please remember to check our our website:
for further information about COVID-19; we have page dedicated to outlining all current safety measure, including how to prevent its spread, and measures that we can all take to keep each other safe. It will be regularly updated as more information becomes available.
We will also continue to use Facebook and newsletters to keep you updated. As always, we strive to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our members and visitors.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you, or someone you know, becomes unwell because of COVID-19 or some other ailment.
Please be assured that I am praying for each and every one of you and I am here for anyone who needs prayer or a chat. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
