When we first started, I was the teacher. I was not sure how the class would work out because of some of the language differences. Most of them can speak Lao, but some of them could not read Lao. They used the Bru Bible with Vietnamese letters and some of the Lao words that are used in our official language, they did not know. So, it was hard for me to communicate with them. However, this is a great experience for me. I learned a new culture, new techniques to teach and how to deal with the language barrier by going through the lesson slowly, always asking them if they understand or not and asking them to be patient in my teaching. Additionally, we still struggled with the effects of the Covid pandemic. Finally, over two years, we are faced with the situation as humans, where we think things seem to be impossible, but for God everything is possible for Him. The class is finished; we studied hard from book 1 through book 10, that is the reward for our endurance.
When we commit to Him, we receive unexpected blessing and beyond our understanding. Many of our students gained knowledge, changed their lives and love to study the Bible more. They give thanks to God and thanks to CCI for giving them the opportunity for this education.
As we serve the Lord, there are many things we don't know and will never know, but we realize that the work is God's, not ours. We just obey, trust, and do. The reality is we sow and we reap in harvest. That is God's plan and heavenly principle!
