Today is Labor Day, a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday of September. It was established to honor and recognize American laborers' work, contributions, development, and achievements.
The word “labor” can be defined as the physical effort to accomplish a task for wages. This can also be applied to Christian ministries and the local church. Thus, God’s Word for today can refer to building God’s Kingdom. But often, our labor has no spiritual value, resulting in vain labor.
Laboring in vain includes:
· Not in God's plan
· Straying from God's plan
· Trying to be a "jack of all trades and a master of none."
Some tips to avoid laboring in vain include:
· Getting God involved in everything you do
· Finding out His plan first
· Waiting for the right time to implement God's plan
We must remember that when we labor God’s way, He will shower us with wages far beyond our expectations.
