Susan Burton won the inaugural Goddard Riverside Stephan Russo Social Justice Book Prize last year for her searing memoir,
Becoming Ms. Burton. On October 15 we'll learn more
about her life and her crusade to help women targeted by the prison system.
Ms. Burton will be joined by special guest James Forman, Jr.,
Pulitzer Prize winning author of
Locking Up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America.
Local libraries will hold book discussions in the weeks before the event.
