December was filled with lots of joy from celebrating holidays around and story time with Mrs. Claus to preschool and older classrooms learning about different landforms like volcanoes, mountains, and rivers. In January we are so excited to give our students a fun learning experience as we explore all the different zoo animals from near and far!
We are so thankful for our Goddard Families! Thank you for joining our Faculty and Students for a wonderful Holiday Party !
JANUARY EVENTS

Happy MLK Day

Friday January 13th we will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr and his legacy with a friendship parade!


FUN FACT:
"I Have a Dream" is a public speech that was delivered by American civil rights activist and Baptist minister, Martin Luther King Jr., during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. In the speech, King called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. Wikipedia
We will be closed Monday January 16th for our Annual Faculty Development Day!
Our Faculty will be working hard that day on completing Curriculum Training.h

Friday January 16th we will celebrate Chinese New Year's with fun classroom projects and a festive parade through the halls!

FUN FACT:
The Chinese New Year isn't only celebrated on one day. Traditionally it is celebrated across 15 days and ends when there is a full moon! It ends with the Lantern Festival. However, the first three days are a public holiday in China and is when the main celebrations take place.

BABY BEARS
Oh, what a joy it was to explore and celebrate the holidays all around in the month of December. In January our Baby Bears will explore through sensory, music and sound, and creativity as they learn about all the amazing Zoo animals around! We will also focus on literacy and language with our students as we engage in learning two songs a week in the month of January. In the first week we will learn the songs Circle Around the zoo and Five Little Fishes!

RAZZLING RATTLERS


We are excited to continue to build the foundation of literacy for our Razzling Rattlers in the month of January as we explore all the different Zoo animals around! Our student will engage each week in different songs like Circle around the Zoo, Five Little Fishes, Five Silly Monkeys and more!

In January we will build our motor skills through pre-writing, Literacy, and creative art as our Happy Hippos students learn grasp with their fist and trace the letters of the Zoo animals around! We will engage in music and sound as we learn songs each week like Zookeeper and Baby Shark!

December, we enjoyed learning about all the different holidays as we explored through the classroom learning and doing activities to bring the holiday season to light. In January as we learn about different Zoo animals around the world, we can't wait to engage and, strengthen their literacy with fun creative song each week like Oh do you want to see the zoo, In the Deep Blue Sea, Zookeeper, Five little fishes and more!

WACKY WILDCATS
This month our Wildcats will be learning about Living vs. Non Living things along with the different types of foods animals eat. We will also work on our letters M, N, V, W, X, Y and incorporate art into our letter sounds. As we review our numbers we will strengthen our understanding of how to count out objects to represent numbers 1-10.
LOVELY LIONS
It was wonderful to see all our parents at the Holiday Presentation the children performed! Over the month of January we will be working on our letter sounds and numbers review. The Letters we will work on are M, N, V, W, X, and Y. We will also be learning about What Animals Eat and their strategies to find food. We will make Venn Diagrams to better understand similarities and differences.
TERRIFIC TIGERS
The Tigers have completed reading 200 BOOKS over the months of November and December!! Way to GO!!!
We are focussing on developing our Comprehension skills as we read our books. This month we will read stories from China to broaden our knowledge. In Math the First Graders will work on Word Problems, while the Kindergartners work on Comparing Numbers and Sets of Objects. In LA, Kindergarten will work on Blending Sounds and First Graders will work on CVC words.
