FNC Logo
This is Tokyo. Once a city of six million people. What has happened here was caused by a force which up until a few days ago was entirely beyond the scope of Man's imagination. Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world. There were once many people here who could've told of what they saw... now there are only a few. My name is Steve Martin. I am a foreign correspondent for United World News. I was headed for an assignment in Cairo, when I stopped off in Tokyo for a social; but it turned out to be a visit to the living HELL of another world.

- Opening voice over to Godzilla, King of the Monsters (1956)

Godzilla may primarily be known as the cause of fictional destruction in Japan, but he has also risen up when Japan was in need, to defend and protect his homeland. With this in mind, Friendly Neighborhood Comics would like to send more than our prayers to the victims of the disasters in Japan, so on March 30th FNC will be donating all profits from the sale of our exclusive limited edition of Godzilla #1 to the Japanese Red Cross.

Godzilla #1 FNC Variant

Friendly Neighborhood Comics Variant

The biggest star in Japan prepares to wreak havoc once again!

IDW Publishing recently announced the return of Godzillaand the hugely successful retailer-exclusive program of GODZILLA: KINGDOM OF MONSTERS #1. Friendly Neighborhood Comics is bringing the King of the Monsters to Bellingham, MA with its very own, smashing cover. FNC's cover is one of seventy-five variants available throughout North America, celebrating the dramatic return of Godzilla to comics.

In an unparalleled debut promotion, seventy-five comic retailers will each offer a unique cover, featuring Godzilla's foot smashing their comic book store. Individually drawn from photo reference, these stunning covers are destined to drive thousands of fans to local comics stores, and send completists on a nationwide search for each and every cover.

"This promotion has resulted in unprecedented support and participation by an amazing number of comic book retailers," said Ted Adams, IDW's CEO/Publisher. "We thought it was a fun idea when it was conceived, but thanks to so many retailers excited about having Godzilla stomp their shop, it has exceeded even our wildest expectations. Godzilla has laid waste to an amazing number of comic book stores on these covers, resulting in the biggest single press run we've ever done. And that just feels appropriate for Godzilla's return."

The new comics from IDW Publishing and Toho Co., Ltd. will feature the King of the Monsters himself, along with other a dozen other fan-favorite monsters that have never before been featured in comic books. Bringing these fearsome creatures back to comics is a larger-than-life creative team, led by co-writers Eric Powell (The Goon) and Tracy Marsh. Artist Phil Hester (Kevin Smith's The Green Hornet) will capture every monster moment.

In addition to the retailer exclusive covers, issue #1 will also feature two painted covers offered on a 50/50 basis: Eric Powell will provide a gatefold wraparound cover featuring many beloved Toho monsters, and fan-favorite artist Alex Ross contributed an imposing image of Godzilla. An additional painted cover by Eric Powell is available as an incentive cover, as well.

In GODZILLA: KINGDOM OF MONSTERS, a full-scale apocalypse is brewing. The monsters are a force of nature whose attacks can be no more predicted or rationalized than a lightning strike. There will be no clean-cut heroes with perfectly chiseled chins and capes billowing in the wind; only ordinary human beings struggling desperately to survive in a world gone mad.

With an impressive cast of monsters both old and new, IDW's series will treat fans to both familiar themes and original takes on the pop culture legends that have stomped, smashed, and fought their way across movie screens for over four decades.

Nonplayer # 1

Nonplayer # 1

Created by Nate Simpson, Nonplayer is a splendidly illustrated science fiction/fantasy story about a brilliant young woman who chooses to spend every free moment in a luscious video game fantasy world that may be more than meets the eye. The book has already earned praise from such comics luminaries as Geoff Darrow, Frank Quitely, Warren Ellis, Frank Cho, and Moebius.

The book is already Sold Out at the distributor level.  I ordered heavy but expect this book to move quickly. That's why I wanted to give email readers a week's head start.

Nonplayer # 1 goes on sale next week.  You can reserve your copy here!
