Going Greener Makes Environmental and Business Sense: Here’s how we’re going about it
Water usage. Reduce, re-use, recycle. Bicycles and e-bikes. Electric cars. Energy-efficiency building design.

Click below to read an in-depth article on how all these environmental considerations are being incorporated into the Steamboat Tennis & Pickleball Center’s expansion plan and our ongoing operations because it makes both environmental and business sense to do so.

The article includes an eye-opening analysis of water usage for our current clay tennis courts and the tough decision that resulted.

Thank you for doing your part in making us "greener" – we're pleased to announce a monthly "Leave Your Car at Home" drawing for a $25 Pro Shop gift certificate! Every time you visit the Center without parking a car, fill out a slip and drop it off at the front desk.

And if you’d like a free Court Sports 4 Life double walled stainless steel 30 oz. water bottle, just join the “Power of 3” Partners with a pledge of $3,333.33! That comes out to just $
Beyond the Net -
Friends in Life, Rivals at the Net
These two fierce athletes bring out the best in their games when competing in their chosen sport of tennis. Both committed beyond their years, with weekly playing and training schedules of 8 or more hours, set an admirable example of discipline and compassion to their peers. Hennie, visiting for the winter from Norway, and Preston from Steamboat Springs, found friendship and rivalry to make them even better as tennis players. Coaches Emily and Bill have worked with Preston, age 11, for some time now and praise his talent, dedication, and drive, which he showed from an early age. Other kids in the programs look up to him, and equally, he looks up to the students in his “Team Steamboat” group, an inclusion he earned with his outstanding play. Hennie, age 10, trains equally fiercely with coaches Jason and Bill, but also with her family, ensuing almost nightly family tennis games. Mom Cathinka, a former National Tennis champion in Norway, sets the bar high for her daughters, Hennie and Cecilia, also a committed tennis player. Hennie’s talent is outstanding and just awesome for her young age. Both kids Hennie and Preston retained the fun in the game, which is a great joy to watch.
"Playing with Preston makes me a better player” states Hennie, “and it’s fun.”

With equal parts of training, an innate competitive spirit, and the thrill of the sport, there is no doubt that both will go far.
Our Annual Open House was a Blast!
Yesterday the Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center hosted its annual Open House. All of the court rentals and pickleball open play were free all morning! Tennis and pickleball pros were on hand to give tips, play games, and to talk about all of the exciting programs coming up this summer. The Court Sports 4 Life fundraising committee was also on hand to talk to people about the Power of 3 initiative, and our new campaign: Leave Your Car At Home.
