Winter 2022
Dear Gold Card Club Member,

Welcome to a new year! The Fall Semester brought a little more normalcy back to our campuses and District as we continued to implement the necessary protocols to keep our community safe, alongside our mission to provide unparalleled learning experiences to the more than 88,000 students we serve. Our staff and students exemplify the legacy of excellence. Thanks to support from YOU -- our Katy ISD community, they have achieved some incredible accomplishments these last several months!
Annual Demographic Update
This fall, Population and Survey Analysts (PASA) presented its 2021 Demographic Update for Katy ISD and the Katy area to the Board of Trustees. Enrollment has increased by 11,000 students over the past five years alone and the District is trending to reach a student population of more than 104,000 by 2031. We are the fastest growing school district in the Houston area! Projections from PASA are used to determine staffing for the upcoming school year, campus and facility bond planning, along with transportation needs.
Legacy Brick Unveiling for Teachers of the Year
Campus Teachers of the Year are the best of the best and it was a joy to honor them with commemorative bricks paving Katy Heritage Park. Venus Construction, Modern Pest Control, the Katy Heritage Society and Katy ISD hosted a brick unveiling ceremony to honor 143 teachers from the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years for their dedication to educational excellence. We are thankful for each and every one of them for the work they do on behalf of their students!

Paetow Panthers Win State Championship
Congratulations to the Paetow High School football team on winning the 5A D1 State Championship! The Panther’s clenched the win against College Station during an explosive game that ended in overtime. Their drive, dedication, and perseverance has paid off and we could not be prouder. Way to go Panthers!
Elementary #44 Receives Official Name
During the January Board meeting, Trustees approved the name recommended for Elementary #44. Our newest campus, located in the Cane Island subdivision, will be named “Steve and Elaine Robertson Elementary.” Dr. Steve and Mrs. Elaine Robertson have dedicated 64 combined years to public education and have served the Katy ISD community for many years with dedication and excellence. We are excited to add them to the prestigious list of District namesakes!
Athletic Hall of Honor for 2020 and 2021
We recently announced the inductees into the 2020 and 2021 Katy ISD Athletic Hall of Honor to recognize the efforts and contributions of former athletes, athletic teams, coaches, and special merit individuals who have brought distinction, honor and excellence to themselves and to the District.
