International Grand Basileus   Deborah Catchings-Smith
Greetings Sorors, Philos and Rhoers!
Welcome to November! Excitement is in the air as we usher in the 97th anniversary of our sorority's founding. We are proud of our consistent, innovative, and relevant service impacts made across the nation and the world! Service is and will continue to be the hallmark of our incredible sisterhood.
Members and Affiliates are highly engaged in the 12 Days of Founders' Month Photo Challenge which displays the pride and work of our organization. It has been exciting to participate in and witness this happening on all levels.
This month, we reflect as we renew our commitment and mission to positively impact women, children, and families across the nation and abroad through service. Our organization has great vision and expectations. Please know that Sigma is on the move and well-equipped to be "A Sisterhood for the Future".  Watch the Fall 2019 update for more information regarding our progress.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) National Leadership Conference
Members of your national leadership attended the 70th Biennial NPHC Leadership Conference in Memphis, TN, October 17-20, 2019. As a precursor to the NPHC Leadership Conference, the NPHC Council of Presidents held a retreat to further develop our collective strategy for 2019-2020 pertaining to Voter Education and Mobilization, Protecting Voting Rights, and the US Census.
We thank St. Jude Research Hospital for hosting the NPHC Council of Presidents Retreat. The NPHC conference offered relevant training and information to undergraduates and alumnae members. Congratulations to NPHC National President, Soror Vanetta Cheeks-Reeder for hosting a successful conference!

Anti-Basileus  Rasheeda S. Liberty
As we start this sorority year, we remain committed to developing and investing in our undergraduate Sorors. Last weekend, undergraduates got the opportunity to attend the RoadTripX hosted by the Harbor Institute in our nation's capital. We awarded registration and accommodation scholarships to six undergraduate members representing each region and to our Second Grand Anti-Basileus Christie Nance. Our regional leadership also supported them with travel scholarships. Northeastern Region Syntaktes Thomasina Gore and UCC Lisa Sellers also assisted with additional needs.
Attendees were exposed to a curriculum specifically designed for NPHC students and campus leaders. They also had the opportunity to network with their peers from campuses throughout the US. We are especially proud of our Second Grand Anti-Basileus Nance for facilitating a panel discussion during the weekend of events.

Our Golden Investment concept has afforded opportunities for our undergraduate Sorors consistently over the last 3 years. Looking ahead, our next opportunity for a Golden Investment will open in December 2019 at the Association for Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV) conference in January 2020. We will award 10 scholarships to undergraduates. Scholarship applications through our partnership will be available by visiting

It Takes a Group of Committed Sorors to Move Us Forward
Over the last year, I have been working diligently to display the work and efforts of our sisterhood. The work is daily and constant. Please know that I do not do this alone. Soror Richelle Jones of Nielle Design is a tremendous asset. She crafts amazing images and design elements which help the sorority to remain distinctive and innovative.
I would also like to thank the members of my International Social Media Committee for their hard work and commitment to this organization.

International Programs Coordinator
 Jacqueline Greely
We are just days away from Saturday, November 9, 2019, where we will join together as a sisterhood for our International Day of Service. We are asking all Sorors and Affiliates in the U.S. and abroad to perform an impactful day of service in their communities.
Chapters and affiliates may do service on their own or in collaboration with other chapters. Chapters may also choose one of the sorority's national programs. Remember that November 11 is also Veterans Day. Please consider hosting a
volunteer opportunity to serve our veterans.
Each Soror and Affiliate member should perform a minimum of three hours of service. Please remember to document your service activities in our Golden Service Reporting Tool. We look forward to seeing all of the activities on this special day.
Don't forget to wear your International Day of Service t-shirt. Let's go and serve our communities!
The 2020 Boule continues to track towards exceeding historic attendance numbers. The unprecedented 7-day early bird price reduction offered in October was a tremendous success. Over 1,300 Sigma Family members have already registered!
Early bird pricing ends on November 30, 2019 at 11:59 PM PT / 2:59 AM ET / 1:59 AM CT. Click here to complete your Boule registration and take advantage of other available payment options.
We'll be creating more firsts in Atlanta. We want to see you there so that you can be a part of history!
