s your new international grand basileus, I plan to bring fresh ideas and a fresh perspective to the work of the sorority as it approaches its centennial celebration in 2022. To achieve this, the board of directors will continue the work of the Going for Sigma Gold strategic plan and will lead with a focus on collaboration, fact-based decision making, effective processes, security and safeguards of the sorority's assets and accountability.

BOULE IN CLEVELAND
Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber and Alpha Lambda Sigma Alumnae Chapter
Sigma Gamma Rho recently wrapped up the 56th Biennial Boule in Cleveland, Ohio. We want to thank the host chapter, Alpha Lambda Sigma, for rolling out the royal blue and gold carpet while our members, affiliates and partners were in the championship city. Members implemented new sorority procedures, held training opportunities and gave back to the community. They donated more than $76,000 to various charities such as the Fatima Family Center, which
provides cultural and leadership programs
to all ages, and an endowed scholarship to Butler University, where the sorority was founded. Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber, a member of the sorority, was a special
guest during the boule. She shared her experiences as the reigning pageant winner.
The sorority also welcomed five accomplished, n
ew members into the illustrious sisterhood:
- Angela Blair-Jefferies: singer, songwriter and entertainer
- Yolanda Harris: news anchor, ABC 6 and FOX 28, Columbus, Ohio
- Shellie "Bo" Talley: entrepreneur, philanthropist, fitness motivator and wife of professional WNBA basketball coach, Fred Williams
- Yvonne Pointer: author, speaker, activist and philanthropist
- Maranda Willis: gospel singer and writer
Sigma Gamma Rho gave out many awards during the boule. We congratulate all of our winners!

- Annie Neville Award Winners - Micah Smith and Mariah Smith, Iota Psi Chapter, Central Region
- Philo Queen - Valerie Lowe, Iota Zeta Sigma Philo Affiliate, Southeastern Region
- Miss Rhoer International - Xavionna Bryant-Davis, Eta Alpha Sigma Rhoer Club, Western Region
- Step Show Winner - Omicron Pi Chapter, Troy University, Southeastern Region

The cleanup of the devastating flooding along the Gulf Coast continues. We want to thank you for sending water, nonperishable food, towels and much more to support our sorors, Philos and Rhoers in need. We ask for your continued prayers.
The Southwestern Region has provided updates and we are now aware of the s
orors and affiliates
who have been directly imp
acted. Your help is needed now more than ever to assist with rebuilding. We are asking members of the
Sigma Gamma Rho family to consider a minimum $22 donation to the Sigma Gamma Rho National Disaster Relief Fund. Your donation will assist the organization in adequately responding to the needs of our family. We have established a 30-day goal of $30,000. Please
