How to help those impacted by the wildfires
Hundreds of Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff have been displaced by the recent wildfires and windstorm in Los Angeles County, some having lost homes and all that represents. The University offers its thoughts and heart-felt sympathies to these members of our Golden Eagle family. For those who want to help, please consider donating to the Golden Eagle LA Fires Recovery Fund, which supports the basic and general needs of Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff who have been deeply impacted by the wildfires. Commencement ceremonies to take place May 19-21
Mark your calendars! Cal State LA will celebrate thousands of graduating students in the Class of 2025 at Commencement on May 19-21. The nine college-based ceremonies will be held in the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Graduating students will have their names called while crossing the stage. The detailed schedule is posted on the Commencement website.

Black History Month celebration at Cal State LA
Join the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management to kick off the Black History Month celebration at Cal State LA on Monday, Feb. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Golden Eagle Ballrooms. This year’s theme is “Black, Bold, and Brilliant,” which celebrates the spectacular lives, amazing accomplishments, and historic contributions of Black people in the United States. Thanks to the generosity of the campus community
Cal State LA students, faculty, and staff donated more than $4,400 worth of toys during the University's Toy Donation Drive. More than 370 new and unused toys were collected and delivered to children in collaboration with Para Los Niños, a nonprofit organization that serves needy children and families in Los Angeles. The Center for Engagement, Service, and the Public Good thanks the Cal State LA community for its generous contributions. A special thanks go to the Cal State LA Federal Credit Union, Center for Student Involvement, and Department of Communication Disorders for their donations and support.

Silverman Gallery exhibit features exhibit by artist Susan Ossman
The Ronald H. Silverman Fine Arts Gallery at Cal State LA presents an exhibition, “States of Exception,” on display through Feb. 20. The exhibit features works by accomplished artist, ethnographer, and scholar Susan Ossman. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 323-343-4040.

The Luckman presents Afrique en Cirque performed by Cirque Kalabanté
Cirque Kalabanté presents Afrique en Cirque, a show inspired by daily life in Guinea, at the Luckman Theatre on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. A colorful show beyond its scenery, costumes, and staging—it showcases the strength and agility required to perform its gravity-defying acts. Cal State LA faculty, staff, and students can reserve up to four complimentary tickets while supplies last. Reserved tickets will be available for pick up on the evening of the performance at The Luckman Box Office. A valid Cal State LA One Card is required when picking up tickets. Income tax filing services offered by Cal State LA VITA
The College of Business and Economics' Department of Accounting, in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service, is offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to low- and moderate-income individuals. Free tax preparation services will be offered at Cal State LA, the Cypress Park Branch Library, the Lincoln Heights Regional Library, the El Sereno Branch Library, the Arroyo Seco Regional Library, and at Young & Healthy, a Pasadena-based nonprofit organization. The free VITA program will run each Saturday through April 12.

ITS Training Program offers hands-on workshops
The ITS Training Program offers hands-on workshops for students, faculty, and staff. Titles offered include Adobe Sign, Classroom Technology, Drupal, Elmo Document Camera, iPad, IT Resources, LinkedIn Learning, and Web Accessibility. These workshops will provide insights into various aspects of technology integration. Faculty workshops for Classroom Technology and Elmo Document Camera began last week.
