What's Happening Around Golden View?
|
Dear Golden View Families:
Partnerships between parents, educators and children enhance children's success. We know that children learn more and have better lives when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts and information and work on projects to benefit children. The Gator Fund financially supports programs that benefit the children at our school, including
its reading specialists, librarians, technology instructors, choral music instructor, and classroom paraeducators. The Gator Fund also purchased most of our technology equipment over the past few years and a significant portion of our new play structure.
For the 2017-2018 school year, we need parents to be part of the Gator Fund Board. We currently have a large group of 5th grade parents who are leaving us, and our new board needs to be in place prior to the end of the school year. The larger roles that are crucial for parents to fill. We currently need a Co-President to work alongside Kimber Monticelli or we will not be able to sustain our current programs and staffing support.
I know many parents are interested in taking on a role, but would like to know more about the details of the job, time commitment etc. If you are interested, I would welcome the opportunity to talk more with you, so please email me at chuajardo@srvusd.net by March 15ht. By becoming a Gator Fund Board Member, you will become an important part of helping to ensure the sustainability of our programs and services.
Please join with us to make a difference in the education and welfare of our children. We look forward to having YOUR HELP!
Thank you,
Christine Huajardo

The Golden View PTA Needs YOU!
Would you like to get more involved at school and be apart of our Golden View PTA?
The PTA is a fun way to get involved with student and teacher programs and plan community building events at Golden View. It's also just a great way to make new friends, take part in your child's education, and continue to strengthen our outstanding school.
Our PTA Nomination Committee is actively searching for volunteers to fill important board positions for the 2017-18 school year. PTA has a variety of Executive Board positions as well as chair positions that require a small time commitment or a larger time commitment, so please take a look at the positions and see if something sounds interesting. Please note that attending PTA meetings is NOT required for all positions. If you're interested, please email the Nomination Chair, Betsy Horvath at bhorvath27@gmail.com
