Waste Collection Delay

Due to the snow delays on Tuesday, all Tuesday customers of the City's Pay-As-You-Throw waste collection program that may have been missed are asked to keep their carts out on Wednesday for service.

The City's waste hauler, Republic Services, anticipates collecting all remaining Tuesday customers on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Thank you for your patience, and concerns and questions can be directed to (303) 277-8727.

The Ore Cart is a free and open-to-the-public shuttle service operating three routes throughout Golden. Over 100,000 rides have been taken since June 2023, so don't miss out on this great community amenity! Visit the City website for hours and route stops.

PlowOps: Snow Plow Tracking Tool

It's that time of the year! Did you know that Golden is the only municipality in the Denver Metro area that plows primary, secondary, and tertiary roadways? You can view the City's progress on plowing streets and sidewalks on the PlowOps web page.

Thank you to our dedicated streets teams who work diligently through winter weather to ensure our streets are safe!.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas Tree Recycling

The City of Golden offers a simple and eco-friendly way to dispose of your Christmas tree—by giving it a second life as mulch! Until January 31, you can drop off your tree at our new collection site located at 230 Depot St., near the intersection of 10th and Vasquez. The site is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To participate, please ensure your tree meets the following guidelines:

  • Remove all ornaments, hardware, strings of lights, and tinsel.
  • Only live Christmas trees will be accepted.
  • Wreaths, tree branches, trash bags, or other wood materials will not be accepted.

The collected trees will be turned into mulch, which will be available for free pickup later at the public site on 11th St., just west of the Clear Creek History Park.

Ulysses Park Redevelopment Project

The Ulysses Skatepark will be closed until mid-February due to construction in the north parking lot and surrounding areas. This closure ensures public and contractor safety while allowing work on the new dog park to progress efficiently.

We understand the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete this important redevelopment.

As part of the Ulysses Park project, the City is seeking new public art to even further enhance the art. The call for for entry is found at online. Submissions are due by January 21.

For updates, visit the project page on Guiding Golden.
