Mayor Laura Weinberg highlighted tonight's Meet and Greet with City of Golden Police Chief candidates. She also highlighted Memorial Day holiday activities, described in detail below.


A reminder that Mondays with the Mayor is cancelled next week due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Light congestion may occur before and following the commencement ceremony, held at Colorado School of Mines Marv Kay Stadium in Golden on Friday, May 22.


The City of Golden wishes the Golden High School Class of 2026 a wonderful ceremony, and good luck on the next steps of each student's journey. More information about commencement can be found on the Golden High School's website.

Golden Bike Cruise Begins May 26


The first Golden Bike Cruise of the season starts next Tuesday, May 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. meeting behind the Armory Building, at 818 14th St., Golden.


The Golden Bicycle Cruise is a family friendly event held on the last Tuesday evening of the month, May through September. Participants cruise along the bike paths and streets of Golden. This month's theme is outer space. There will be live music, food, and a raffle.

Golden Farmers Market Next Weekend


The Golden Farmers Market kicks off its season starting next Saturday, May 30, through Labor Day. The event lasts from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., between Illinois and 10th St., near downtown Golden. Arrive early to purchase the freshest items.

Golden Utility Billing Email Change


June's billing cycle will begin using a new email address for City of Golden Utility bills. The new email address is: noreply@incode.tylerhosting.cloud.


Please add this to your safe senders list and/or your contacts. The City's new system may go to junk or spam, especially for Gmail account users. Be on the lookout to avoid missing your next bill.

Ride Around Greater Golden For Free


Residents and visitors can now hitch a ride for free to some of the busiest parking areas just outside of Golden. Riders can use the free shuttle from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays starting Memorial Day Weekend, through Labor Day, to main attractions in the greater Golden area.


The shuttles will take passengers every 15 minutes to and from destinations such as Matthews/Winters Park, the Red Rocks Trading Post, and more, leaving from the RTD Golden Station. You can learn more below.

Meet the Candidates for Police Chief

The City of Golden is holding a Candidate Meet and Greet event for the next City of Golden Police Chief. Candidates will give brief remarks followed by a mix and mingle. The event is free and open to the public.


The two candidates are Michele Wagner, right, who has 25 years of experience, working through the ranks at the Lakewood Police Department and currently serving as Chief Investigator with the 1st Judiciary Attorney's Office.


Shawn Wray, left, also has 25 years in law enforcement, working for both the San Diego County Sheriff's Office and the City La Mesa Police Department. He currently serves as Division Chief for the City of Wheat Ridge.

Memorial Day in Golden


The City of Golden would like to wish all residents a meaningful and safe Memorial Day weekend. City Hall will be closed, however emergency services will operate as normal.


To celebrate the holiday in Golden, the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial Foundation is hosting a Memorial Day ceremony beginning promptly 2:00 p.m., and will include a flyover, the U.S. anthem, and more.
