Hundreds of ghouls, goblins, princes, and princesses joined us yesterday for the annual Trick or Treat Street on Washington Ave.

Mondays with the Mayor

Water Conservation Public Meetings
Golden is hosting two free educational events for residents to provide presentations on water efficiency programs and updates including the Waste of Water Ordinance.
The first is event will be offered at Golden Council Chambers (911 10th St.) on Friday, November 3, from 1-2 p.m. and Wednesday, November 8 from 5-6 p.m.

2023 Sustainability Rebates Still Available
Save energy, save water, and save money with Golden's sustainability rebates designed for residents looking to electrify their homes. These rebates encompass electric mini-splits, whole-house heat pumps, electric water heaters, and electric panel upgrades. Fall Yard Waste Collection Week | Nov 6-10
For residents who participate in the Pay as You Throw (PAYT) program, take note – the semi-annual yard waste collection occurs on your regular service day! Yard waste will be collected by a separate truck on your designated trash collection day and should be placed near where your trash is collected by 7 a.m. Material may be placed in your organics cart, bundled, or in certified compostable bags.

Election Day is November 7!
The 2023 City of Golden General Municipal Election will be held in coordination with Jefferson County on November 7. This year, City of Golden voters will elect a Mayor and Councilors for District One and District Two.

Four Day Work Week Three Month Update
On Friday November 9 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (911 10th St.) join Golden Police Chief Joe Harvey and Scott Vargo, City Manager, for a 3-month update on the Police Department 4 Day Work Week Pilot program.
This summer, the City launched a 4-day workweek program trial for all Police Department employees who moved from a 40-hour work week to a 32-hour work week without a change to pay. This update will include details on how the pilot is progressing and the impacts this change has had on the community and Police Department.

The City of Golden is inviting applications for the 2024 Thriving Community Support Program! Up to $500,000 is available for projects benefiting Golden residents. Here's what you need to know:
Eligibility:
- Non-profits, individuals, for-profit entities, and public entities serving the Golden community.
- Focus on quality of life, health, education, culture, and more.

Indigenous Connections Project
November 2, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Golden History Museum
In 2021, Golden History Museum & Park embarked on a new project to elevate the Indigenous voice and representation in the Museum’s exhibits, collections, programs, and interpretation. Learn about the progress the Museum has made in the past two years as well as plans for future exhibits, research, and outreach. Admission is free.

CDOT I-70 Floyd Hill Project
CDOT is working on the 8-mile section of I-70 from west of Evergreen to eastern Idaho Springs to repair and update infrastructure and add a new lane to relieve traffic bottlenecks on the existing two lanes.
