Swimming in leaves?

boy playing in leaves

We love the leaves when they're still on the trees, but once they fall, it's a whole different matter! That's why Golden offers semi-annual yard waste collection days, once in the fall and once in the spring, to help residents get a handle on all the leaf and organic debris the change in seasons brings. And as a bonus to getting the leaves and stray branches out of your hair (literally in some cases) the organic waste will be put to good use and composted. This week is the fall yard waste collection, so remember to get your compostable bags to the curb. Learn more on our Yard Waste Collection Days page.

Linking Lookout (US 6 & 19th St. Interchange)

Engineers will be collecting data on highway performance over the next 2 weeks and will complete an after-project report.

The project website remains up and active until we complete a couple of follow-up activities, including a traffic study to verify that the intersection is working as expected, and a noise study to verify the noise modeling that we did prior to construction.

Results of those efforts will be posted to the website when they are complete in the next month or so. The webcam is no longer active.
Tony Grampsas Dog Park Temporary Closure

Menzi Muck
Stormwater

All Mountain Construction has brought their Menzi Muck into Golden to do some mowing of the willows and other vegetation in selected channels around town.

Mowing began yesterday. Due to the close proximity of the channels to walking trails, it will be necessary to close some of the trails as they are mowed.

These will be marked and Stormwater personnel will be on hand to ensure the safety of the public.
